Now I don’t know if this has been posted before but I have loaded at this place more than once, Buzzer.

Smiths of Axford are still trading, albeit as coal and log merchants.Did not realise they used to do european haulage, any idea when they packed it in?
Happy new year btw
Regards
Andy.
Hi Suedehead Roy Smith did a stint for us at DIT in the 90s and my old grey cells tell me they also ran a green Atkinson unit in the past, can almost visualize it now, and as you say they are quite big into logs and got a feeling they had part of Membery airfield as a depot just off the M4 where we used to deliver synthetic rubber for ISR, also can remember the old Summerfield Fodens on that job think they were orange in colour. On the logs they ran transits and trailer drag and used to do quite a wide area and I have bought logs of them, any ways going to carve the roast lamb now see you all in the new year, Buzzzzzzer.
We used to load Manitou Telehandlers for Kingswood, I’m sure it was Vierzon…down the N7 I think without looking at a map…4 hours to LH? Maybe those machines were from another plant.

You well maybe right Gazzer as the machines on that Axford MAN look pretty basic machines , they have come one helluva long way since that picture was taken, Obviously Mappo never loaded there and I was thinking he was an experienced operator with a wealth of knowledge, bet he’s at home getting ready for the New Year celebrations digging out his shorts, socks (not white) and polishing his sandles ready for “old langs sine” cheers Buzzer.
Seasonal greetings to you all, wishing you the very best for 2015. Blakey.
Same to you Blakey, and to everyone else that reads this.

Well HNY to you “blakey” and it occurred to me do you still use that nick name we gave you all those years ago (on the bus’s) fame , just wondered if they call you that where you work now. There are loads of blokes who were given nick names on DIT and they are still used today even years after they have left the company, all the best for 2015 Buzzer.
Just for your new year Mr Mapson, this picture came up on another thread Buzzer.
When I first saw that, I was wondering whose tilt that was.
I then realised your name missing from the headboard so it was obviously taken after you sold it.
Still looks good though.
Now that is a very nice looking set up. A left ■■■■■■ globetrotter with a tri-axle tilt always looks the part. The trucks of today with a euroliner on the back just don’t invoke thoughts of destinations far, far away!
I see what looks like a Bartrums Sedon Atkinson peeking into the shot. I live near Diss. Fame at last. Jim.
Any one know who this belonged too, got a feeling Les Slater had it for a while Buzzer.
That little girl in that shot is all growed up now, how time flies Buzzer.
Well me and the Boss went down to Lee on Solent to take a ganders at the stricken ship on the Brambles Bank along with 50 million other people and I was looking at the number plate on a 4x4 in the disabled bay and lo and behold there was an old sea captain, not quite but none other than Eddie Huntley and his Mrs Connie taking in the sea air. When you read this Mappo you said you would go and sort Eddies computer for him and he is waiting, cheers Buzzer.
