well hello all … I haven’t posted for ages… Mainly due to moving to a place in them thar hills that had no internet… But I have been dropping into these pages and monitoring quietly in the background whenever I’ve been on the wifi at macadees in civilisation…
Tone…
I remember well that week when your Brother died. I was living in Swanwick Lane just up t’road from JD and Keef came round to tell me what had happened…a shocker for you both. '85 was it? Thirty years ago next year…time flies eh. will pm you later.
JD. I had a memory flashback the other day… ''Twas the year of 1995 , Christmas Eve at Andersons Road and you seeing me back in M33 into a slot to park up for the Xmas break…( well, 2 days anyway… ) . I think you must have had about 25 in the fleet then so would have been a pretty tight squeeze getting them all in eh?
As for the bags of money … Can I have one, as I’m moving over to Southern Ireland in January and think chocolate money might still be legal tender there…
A very Happy Christmas to all! Baldrick.
Welcome back Stu, sorry Balders, I,ve replied to your comment
on the Soton thread mate.
Yeh, losing our brother was hard at the time and even after all these
years he,s still in my thoughts especially at Christmas.
Anyway stay in touch this time if you can Stu, any added banter is always welcome.
Morning all, hope everyone is home safe and sound over there… Was always a nice sight to see the yard full and everyone
home at once - rare though it is in this game. Enjoy your time home with Families and friends… Regards to one and all,
have a very Merry Xmas and all the best for 2015 - may it be another happy and successful year for everyone …
Stay safe please …
Mappo , thoughts are with you and yours during this trying period Matey.
While making my selection from the tin of chocolates during the festive period I remembered one of those special moments. What I am talking about is a past employee of DIT namely Wee Jock who during his time with us had numerous incidents which several of you have recalled but the one I shall refer to is going back when we did Rowntree Macintosh work for Solstor. Quite often we used to load on a Friday for out ward shipping from R M at Mytholmeroyd with Quality Street sweets, now if you loaded there on a Friday you were allowed into the shop and buy seconds quality samples, nothing wrong with them only they were cheap. now as it was coming up for Christmas Wee Jock decided he would buy Mrs D a nice big bag, but Jock being Jock must have put these sweets to close to the night heater exit pipe and consequently during the journey home they fused together and when presented to her they were in one lump having welded themselves together, we did manage to salvage some but you were not quite sure what you were going to get which the same could be said of Wee Jock, cheers Buzzer.
Hello all.
Special Hello to Buzzer, the Boss, Horry and ■■■■■■.
It might be a little early but a Very Happy New Year to everybody using this tread and all past and present drivers working for the Blue and White fleet.
I was never a great social person but I have been reading the post from time to time and enjoying the witty banter as well as the updates .
Forgive me if I don’t reply straight away but I will soon.
Paul Who:
I’ve been looking at old post on here and yet to find a thread on John Davies So’ton.
Before I go on is there a thread? .
Contract driver, Hi, I’ve read your other post on PJK, How are you?.
Any body else used to work for Busby on here.?
I spoke to Jockey the other day and he was going to look at the site, but I can imagine a lot of the guys who worked there around 1994 - 97, the time I worked for them, are" not wired up right". Or on day release and are forbidden from the using Internet. Bye Bye, NOW. Paul.[/img]
Not bad Paul, over 6 years later,175 pages, over 5000 posts and still going strong.
Hope you,re keeping well mate and Happy New Year to you as well.

Bristol Jocky called in the other day to say hello and its hard to believe his kids are all grown up, I still remember them shipping out with there dad just like yours did, time moves on so fast Buzzer.
