Daisyduke…I,m so sorry to hear of your Dads illness…that’s really sad news.
Paddy as most know him is well liked and well known in the south.
I know Phil Grant lives in the Poole/Bournemouth area, but I don’t have any contact details.
Someone will though and I,m sure he,ll get the message.
Please pass on my sincere best wishes to your Dad, from Tony Mapson.
So so sad, my prayers are with you, Paddy and the rest of your family.
Mappo
I have copied the above to the SOFA facebook page (stupid old ■■■■■ association ) set up by Ray Caswell for all the drivers who used to ship out of Poole on Truckline. I haven’t seen Phill Arcus for years.
Edit to add : I have now put it on the Ex-GBE facebook page as many GBE lads would have known Paddy and the 2 other Phill,s

Just got hold of Ray Caswell who will speak to “Andre” who is in touch with Phil Grant .

Have spoken with Phil Grant and hes in touch with Daisyduke and awating contact details etc to speak with Paddy…
Great the system works thanks all .
Joe
Well done Joe,Stevie and Ray .Christ, is Andre still about, I thought he moved up North years ago
Well done lads, great response…I notice this morning that it’s on FB as well.
This is old school comeraderie at its best.
Let’s hope Paddys request comes to fruition and I hope he,s not suffering
too much…
Oh dear people, I,m afraid that I have unknowingly given out some wrong information.
It’s not Paddy that most of us know that is ill, but his brother, who I don’t know but
who obviously knows Phil Grant.
Still very sad news, but i apologise for jumping the gun and wrongly assuming it was Paddy.
Ps…this isn’t the first time I,ve dropped a clanger…Sorry again.

Kerbut,
Yes Andre is still alive n kicking ,lol… Doing nights for Wyvern Cargo in Poole at the moment …
Nice to see things are moving in the right direction for the contact we need between “Paddy” and “Phil”, thanks for that
Mappo -
Its good to see the network working - all shoulders to the wheel when needed, all looking after each other,
very reassuring ,well done all …
Chatted with “BV” and “Sully” s’morning neither of whom have changed, lololol…
DVLA Seem to be hell bent on reducing the HGV Drivers by the looks of it . Have changed the eyesight test which makes it a
right dogs breakfast and adds about £35 to the £60-£125 medical bill.
What with the CPC malarky et al makes you wonder if they wont be happy til we don’t exist. Recall an item in C.M. back
along where they were saying how many had lost their licences in the last year or so . Next they’ll be crying cos
there aren’t any Drivers to do the work … Well they’ll have to wait til next Christmas now to get mine, TOUGH …
Take care all.
Joe
Some where in Europe, Buzzer.
Mr Davies, I think you may need to get your company photographer a new camera for Christmas!! Going by the lack of pics lately I assume the original one must be broken!!! Either that, or he is still stuck on board the Queen Elizabeth (or whatever it was in Civi the other month) and is currently midway through a round the world cruise!

Mappo,
Yes mate sad news in deed. Condolences to all of the Family. Be nice to think that he got his wish. We did the best that we could
with what time was available. Hoping it worked as we all wished it would …
Even more heart breaking at this particular time of the year of course…
Joe C
Hi Joe, yes mate as you say very sad especially at this time of year.
I lost a young brother ( no not Keith ) Christmas week in in 1985.
I was driving for Davies at the time and had just done a double manned trip
to Spain with Paul Nichols…we had shipped into Dover with a delivery to
Chingfords in Woolwich…on arrival Buzzer was there in his car to give me
the tragic news of my brother, and took me home…long time ago now.

JEEEEEZ Tony, just cant imagine the shock and sorrow on that one. Had to
be akin to a ton of bricks descending from a gr8 height. My heart goes out to you there
Matey. Took some sorting out in your head I’m sure. And doubly distressing as we said this time of year…
Also of course it is a constant reminder for all years to come for you all. Some who we all know would have
wanted you to go and tip the load, fortunately you were working for Buzzer…
Time doesn’t dull the emotions or loss …
Apologies to all for our hijacking of these pages and or thread…
Joe C…
Good day every one, tizz that time of year when the generous side of me springs into action when I think of all the past employee’s of Davies who in there way gave so much to the company in the past. Some may be having a harder time of things so I have decided to do something for you all, it is my intention to give away bags of money to those most deserving cases over which I will preside. If you think you are a deserving benefactor send me a PM explaining your thoughts and reasons, there you go we were never knowingly undersold at Davies International, cheers Buzzer.
PS. before you all get to excited the bags of money will be coinage only, ooh and in chocolate.
Ha ha Buzzer, your generosity knows no bounds.
I,ve had a word with Richard and he,s gonna lend me one of his sprinters.
I,ll be round later for my share…
Oh and Joe, thanks for your kind words mate.
