Davies Int. Southampton. With photos (Part 1)

Horry:
Sorry Colin defo not one of ours mate!

I realised that quite quickly Horry, it’s just they had to question mark it, methinks not really truck enthusiasts selling truck pictures they probably pinched off the WWW.

Colin

That picture of NNV at prince’s Nursling and the metallic blue car next to it…that was my old 264 which had a 302 Ford V8 in it. Pete Yates bought it from me, sold the V8 to a Hot Rodder from Salisbury and he put his 144 4 cyl engine into it…

nilocekyd:
just found this on ebay
shame on them!

Colin

Hi Colin if that picture was one of ours it would have our name on the headboard loud and proud as we never hid behind the curtains, cheers JD.

whats that all about? (got an axe somewhere to grind I guess)

I like most really enjoy this thread especially the up to date pictures from andrew morrison, I have never worked for davies but have admired the fleet and style they do there work with. I’d rather look back to the ‘good old days’ rather than todays bland fleets, sadly even Davies has I imagine had to curtail too much personalization due to the low profit margins these days and low residuals.

lets please have much more of the same, if you are not enjoying the thread don’t look at it, there is a nice Stobart one running if you want the bland future.

PS… Buzzer it’s mikey not milky (reference the wildern unit comment of the soton thread). mind you I’ve been called a lot worse!

regards

Mike

Always wondered why !

Andrew has to wait till after Christmas for his new steed I think that’s why he is not posting any pics of the others, I might have to replace him as company photographer as he has become very lax of late, cheers Buzzer.

Many thanks for your comments Rowland small but neat fleet that we run, attention to detail was always my way and this has passed on to Hori my son as he is more fastidious than I ever was, how things have moved on when I think back at what I drove first cheers Buzzer.
