Badger:
Balders (Stu)
You were one of the chosen ones to be let loose in my baby.
I remember we double manned a wide load to Valancienne all dodge thru the night a eurohaul wide load permit only to be told in the morning that the crane was booked for the day after, LTs didn’t want to pay me for you coming back as you weren’t needed for the empty trip back, I did get my money in the end it was all fight but I subbied for them for 19 years, hey weren’t the best payers on jobs but a cheque 1st of every month & work all year round so they evened out I suppose
all the best
Jeremy
Sorry John (Buzzer) & DIT for a LTS moment on here,
ps all my veg in store @ Tesco’s right now■■?
Cant beat it straight out the garden mate, had four pigs done today as well but like a pratt forgot the photos, cheers Buzzer.
Evening Buzzer, Mt Cenis covered in snow yesterday for the riders to fight up in the Giro D Italia,! Spent most of the day mowing sileage, and switching from one French Radio station to another to get the commentary, (left some wavy lines behind me)! I
m getting good grass on the sandy fields, but shorter on the clay, but at least I`m getting grass.
Those Beasts look great, hope that you do well at Mart with them. Which spuds have you put in? That is a nice bit of Garden you have, you have put a lot of work into it, and it shows.
Whereabout in the South of France is Baldrick, I sent a load of Wiljas down to my Daughters Godfather in Lorgue, (just up from Nice), and instructions how to build defences against the Wild Boar, the B… just love nice spuds!
More mowing for tommorow, (all the grass is sold), so a leisurely start…0.7.30, then go like heck,…I`ve a Valtra on demo, reminds me so much of an F89…but a lot more money! Did you see all those F88s for sale in the Classic lorry book, down Berkshire way? My good lady said NO!!!
Your question…it was the face, the smile, and the legs…she has still got them all…(and the teeth)!!!
Cheerio for now, Ill raise a toast in your direction!

Hi Saviem cant believe you are cutting grass already no one down here is even thinking about that yet, you said it is all sold but who to and what for, is it clamp silage or baled.
Do like this two way chat even though we have never met, if I ever get near to your place it would be nice to meet up so as to put a face to the name. Its all our yesterdays with a bit of modern thrown in for good measure. Going to leave the cattle at the moment as they are losing winter coats and look better for it and with the little bit of grass they are getting they will get a bit of a sheen to them and that will make them more to the eye when selling.
Balders is in a place called Malamaire near Valdroure which is not to far from Nice I think, we nicknamed him Baldrick when he worked for us in the 90’s and it has stuck after all these years, but he does look like the real Baldrick.
As for the spuds I have planted two sorts both early’s my favourite is Annabelle it is a waxey type of spud but when you prepare them for dinner it is wise to do half again as many as you need cos they always get eaten even if cold never wasted, and I planted them on the 3rd of March which was very early but put them in deep in case of frost. The best way to garden is to do little and often then it’s not a chore. My French climbing beans were a complete failure this year as I put them straight in the ground for the first time and now have replanted more in pots.
Well it’s nice to here your Mrs has stuck with you all this time you must be doing some thing right to please her, but I do think when you get older its too much trouble for change as you get to know each others ways and its to much hassle to alter things. Did not see the trucks in that mag you mentioned but did ring up about an Albion six wheel rigid the other day but got no answer, mainly because I ran a four wheel version which was my first HGV venture of the same vintage 1967 model ergomatic cab.
Must away to my bed now as driving horses tomorrow, good luck with the rest of your mowing, cheerio for now Buzzer.
Buzzer:

Hi Mate they are all Lim X heifers, cheers Buzzer.
The Dutch always seem to go the extra mile with there trucks with this XXL, don’t know who took this pic but its in my album and I don’t think its been posted before, cheers Buzzer.
Evening all, Buzzer, totally agree with you on the fairer ■■■!
It is clamp sileage, but it is actually not at all bad, but Im worried for my hay. The growth is ok but weve concerns about the lack of sun,…and there are so few Bees about. The ■■■■ is in flower, (not a crop that I really like, but it gives a bit of revenue). Had a visit from a pillock in a white hat, and a yellow coat today, to check on my abstraction licence! Told him I was glad that he had his safety helmet on, “why”, says he…because the crows have all got constipation says I, …it was lost on him, D`ont care much for the monopoly that is Severn Trent Water
Your right, those “cloggies” ran some smart motors!!! But they never seemed to use the sleeper bit!! Mind you, your lorries look smart.
How did the driving go? Nice morning out?
Richard, glad you saw Eurosport, I went onto Digital Satellite a couple of years ago, so lost the Analogue Eurosport, can now get about 600 channels that I dont want, and about 4 that I do....progress I suppose!! Did you drive Cenis when the steps were "loose" surfaced? Once made me wonder if I
d got to go up backwards!! The little Foden was slipping about like a Drake on an icy pond. Ah the follies of youth!
Did you know Duncan well? I found him good company, and a good sense of humour, thaat is a nice photograph that you posted.
Im away to my tea…and the “obligatory”…sad day in London though today, sad for all of us! Cheerio for now.
Just to show how things change in a week, these two pics are taken six days apart of me veg patch.

The Dutch have taller cabs because as a rule they are taller people, not short like some others!!!

Richard have you upset Gazzer as I think he is being unnecessarily rude about the vertically challenged of this world and I think he aimed that comment directly at you which is not nice as you are an upstanding valued member of the society, and you drink in the Royal Oak to boot cheers Buzzer.

Gary 5.30pm isn’t it a bit early to be starting on shorts?

Hi Richard your old DAF has been nothing but trouble since I bought it and has cost me a fortune so if you are feeling generous please put a cheque in the post for £900 towards the costs. No only kidding mate it really is nice to drive and the day I bought it without test driving it I went straight to Preston from Wrexham and home that day and got home about 10pm and only changed gear twice, once for congestion round Brum and when I stopped for fuel. Did spend about £400 for the MOT, the only problem is I could do with it being 26ft long, fitted a winch and load lock but when I take four horses I have to use a trailer for the carriage but that is the only drawback. Its a shame Williams have gone out of business because they build a really good box any way trust all is well with you cheerio for now John Davies aka “Buzzer”

Hi Bewick funny enough while doing Lands End to John 'O’Groats with horse drawn WW2 replica ambulance two years ago for Help the Heroes challenge I actually drove through Milnthorpe and saw there place of work, they have a good reputation for cattle boxes and I know a couple of people who have bought new from them but I think they have competition now from Pezzioli which is an Italian option cheers Buzzer.
This was the last of 3 lift off horse boxes I had built at Parkhouse Coachworks in '89,side and rear ramps, the interior was fitted out to carry 6 herring bone style or as I usually had it set out, for two, in side stalls with a gangway between and plenty of room at the front half for all the racing gear. The box was only lifted off for annual test so it never ever had a revenue earning payload on it’s Parkhouse flat. The chap that started Parkhouse (the name of his house that stood in front of his first workshop) was called John (Jonny) Houghton RIP and he began his career as a jobbing Joiner who rode around the Milnthorpe area on a shop delivery bike with his tools in the basket. The firm has been developed and run successfully for many years by Johns son Michael.

Evening all, Sovereign at Wolverhampton do a very nice line in boxes, that foreign fellow, who owns a football club in a posh bit of london has just had one from them!!!
Cheerio for now.
