Think I spot young Hooter there in that pic Les,did not realize he was so tall he should have been a weather man he could have seen what was coming,which reminds me when we were in Paul Crawfords yard in upper northam drive you knew when rain was coming as the old hydro power lines used to sing to you when approaching,cheers Buzzer.

Hi Balders what a good medium this old thread is in keeping touch with folks no matter where they live,ive just come in from the garden plot and by god its cold,just put in some climbing French beans which to be truthful are my favourite bean and some beetroot but it is that cold with a biting wind I would not want to put my head out the ground just yet,but as I said to you it has two chances in my world it grows or it dies.All spuds in now so just carrots and more beet and a few other bits and bobs to go but spring has not sprung here at all so to hell with the calendar as its got it wrong,cheerio for now Buzzer, Lord of Bursledon.

Hi Le Balders,that Mandator was a cracker and could fly when wound up,we started with green motors but that was deemed unlucky so changed to two tone blue which is still my favourite this was in early eighties then when we started to buy 10 new trucks a year the cost of painting was to much and plastic sign writing had come into its own so we had the trucks from the factory with blue chassis and white cabs and had them striped but it seems a lot of companys did that as well,all down to cost at the end of the day.Glad to hear you got the spuds in all worth while when you harvest and eat within the hour makes it all worth while,if you PM your address I can send you a packet of them climbing beans mate they come with there own goggles and snow boots so should be good for where you are situated,cheerio for now Buzzer.
PS.The company you were thinking of on LDSH was specialist freight movements and they were on a wharf near cobden bridge and there was a chap called âTinyâ worked for them,drove an old akky and one day I was loaded to go to Membury and was just weighing of and that Tiny was roping down his load and to my amazement he got to Membury before me,i said how did you do that and with a wry grin he told me he went up through Stockbridge and I had gone to Bullington and hung a left,of course I learnt pretty quick it was at least ten minutes quicker his way and needless to say I didânt make that mistake again,another Mary Hopkin moment.
