Andrew…nice pics mate, where were you loading those bananas■■?
We did a few loads of bananas out of Le Havre ( didn,t we Gazzer ) to Italy.
Didn,t know delivery point til we cleared with the agent in Aosta.
Could have been anywhere from one drop Milan or six drops or more
From Turin to Naples. Happy days.

Did you doctor that pic on Photoshop,Tone? I.E. remove your socks
Morning JD… a kind offer re the beans, will pm you later…
john, re your comments about the Davies colours. I’m with you on that one , although current look is pretty ■■■■ good! I always remember seeing the old ones parked opposite your drum in Bridge Road when I moved to Swanwick Lane in '83/4 and earlier ( 70’s ) when I lived in Botley there was quite often one parked behind Lloyds bank in Hedge End. Might have been The Joker…would that be his Toneship?
Talking about colour schemes, in about 1971 I bought an old series 1 Landrover ( wish I had it now ) and promptly had it sprayed Aubergine and Yellow
I thought I looked the bees knees driving round in that but the truth is I must have looked a complete ■■■■! Still it was the days of flares and tank tops…
A Mary Hopkin Moment. I always hope somebody sensible ended up with it and put it back as it should be…
Balders your right with TIR Tone he used to park there behind the bank,he said he used to get on with the manager really well but I suspect that is cos he had an overdraft and they were worried they were not going to get it paid of.As for flared trousers and tanktops ime hoping they come back in fashion as I still have mine, cheers Buzzer.
Balders…are you sure TIR hasn’t got his socks on? Look at the skin colour change, they might be the alternative “flesh toned” ones.

Hi Tone don’t think its on high security to tell you bananas loaded at Port Vendre on the coast just before La Junquera,i see your mate Gazzer is giving you grief again about your attire and I don’t think you ever goin to get away from your label of a dedicated follower of fashion cheers Buzzer.
Balders and Buzzer…I,m afraid to say that you,re both wrong, but not too far off.
I used to park behind the Co op on the opposite side of the road to Lloyds bank, and did so
for quite a few years with several units.
As for having a good relationship with bank manager Buzzer, never had that in my life.
Gazzer…thought I,d got away with those socks.
When I lived in Hedge End I did park behind the Post Office at times but not with The Joker. Wax occasionally parked the Viking Roller in there if he was passing by. I used to park my FL10 there or if I was lazy up towards J7 at the end of the houses. I had a visit one day at the yard in Romsey, a Traffic Cop. “Advising” the Kingswood driver not to park in Hedge End or it would be reported. He didn’t know it was me. I then had to park by Carpet Right etc if I was home during the week… along wet walk usually!

London Mark aka “The Bullitt” who used to work for us called in the yard this week as Horry mentioned,it reminds me of the time when he was in the yard on time out when on a Sunday shopping trip in to town the Boss needed the loo so we went round the yard and she caught Mark and his Mrs in a compromising position on the floor of the rest room, red faced he tried to explain that Janet had a bad back and he was massarging it for her,i think he thought the Boss came up on a banana boat, cheers Buzzer
Hi John.I think Mark was a bit slow there.I would have said that she had a flat tyre and I was pumping her up! Got to think on your feet.Have a good day at Windsor. At least it will be dry.Regards Charlie

Well, good luck at Windsor. Give my regards to Liz.
A big day here for getting the veg in, although I feel a bit like Ed Grundy to you an Mr Bollinger as Brian Aldridge and you as david Archer…I’m just messing about in a poly tunnel, with a big learning curve ahead… I suppose though, if nothing grows I can head down the mountain to Monsieur Leclerc…

All in all I think about six mate, but they were rented from Richard Tapper of Ilied trailer rentals, sometimes you have to put the customers name on although I don’t like it but we had some good work from them till they tried to have me over a load of broccoli they said was frozen but we had a good assessor came from spalding way,we used him several times and he saved us loads on our insurance, turns out they had over ordered the stuff and could not shift it so they tried it on.When things came to a head they said we had done the load for there Spanish side so we would have to take it up with them, which we did and got a court order and had it enforced over there, they had to pay up with interest but it took two years to do but we had the b-ast-rds in the end,the joys of international work eh,cheers Buzzer.
PS. a pic of one of Ilied trailer rentals,Richard Tapper and one of ours in Syds colours.
