No this isn’t the usual what should I get ect
I was coming back to our yard and I witnessed a car squeeze between two trucks on the a66. I checked my dash cam . (i have my own) I contacted the company involved ward bros of malton and found out the police were involved and blamed the truck driver so I e-mailed the footage. What would you have done.
Exactly what you did is what I would have done. I’m not a fan of dashcam warriors posting clips all over Youtube of other peoples driving, but in this case you may just have saved the licence and livlihood of a normal working guy who happened to fall foul of someone else’s crap driving. Well done.
I personally wouldn’t use a Dash Cam to post footage on Facebook… Youtube…etc ext… can’t see the point…other than post footage of them dam cyclists to prove the merits of licensing the idiots…
But where as you witness an accident / accident they are a good tool to supply quality evidence to the police, insurance companies and haulage firms…
Just because a car driver screws up… why should the truck drivers career suffer…

Was there an actual collision?
have a look at 7 seconds you can see the red corsa hit the central reservation after the car clips the blue truck. He then struggles to control the car and stops.
I’m baffled
Looked at video several times and can’t see why you would even question it, let alone contact company! Why would the police already be involved? Nothing happened!

Another case of someone sticking their oar into something that doesn’t concern them just because they’ve got a dash cam and it makes them feel righteous.

The car came from beside the blue MAN truck. squeezed between the tipper and blue MAN clipped N/S of the blue truck. hit the central rez. then fish tailed till he got control and pulled over. Only lucky he did not go under the tipper

wouldnt you rather someone stuck up for you or you get blamed for an accident that wasnt your fault

Have you considered a career writing for the Daily Mail? They’re good at making stuff appear far worse than it was. That wasn’t even close to being a fishtail. He never even came close to going under the tipper.

I would rather people would not get involved in stuff involving me when it doesn’t concern them and leave me to sort my own [zb] out thank you.
Why would you post that on YouTube if you’ve already emailed it to the company or the police, serves no purpose other than the usual dash cam crap?
Watched it a couple of times and can see the corsa fishtailing. Graham Did the right thing here IMO.

That was a wobble, wasn’t even a swerve never mind a fishtail.

Glad I saw the same as you in real live as you did in the footage.

So you wouldn’t want witnesses if you were involved in a accident that wasn’t your fault? You’d just let it go 50/50 or have the blame pinned on yourself instead?

Well done, you understood what I said.
Witnesses are completely unreliable and often exaggerate things, skewing what really happened. Look here where a little wobble after clipping a kerb has become a ‘fishtail’. With witnesses like that your better off without.
I was involved in an accident last Saturday between Luton and Harpenden on the B653. Car hit my car up the arse, I got out, called the idiot driver a few choice words, got back into my vehicle and carried on with my day. Didn’t mess about with witnesses or anything else, crap happens, move on. My car drove okay and when I got home later had a look and not much in the way of damage so not the end of the world. Didn’t need some Dash Cam Warrior getting all aroused and posting it on YouTube making it out to be far worse than it was.
coffeeholic can i ask why though. if it isnt your fault and you are getting the blame off the police would you not want help off a passing motorist (fellow truck driver)

As above, witnesses are unreliable at best and just as likely to make the situation worse by exaggeration.
