Dash cam

I would rather people would not get involved in stuff involving me when it doesn’t concern them and leave me to sort my own [zb] out thank you.

So you wouldn’t want witnesses if you were involved in a accident that wasn’t your fault? You’d just let it go 50/50 or have the blame pinned on yourself instead?

Well done, you understood what I said.

Witnesses are completely unreliable and often exaggerate things…

So you’re involved in an accident, it wasn’t your fault, four separate independent witnesses are stood there willing to give you their details. What do you say? No thanks, I’d rather take half the blame?

Very strange.

oh well the company involved appreciated my video and have forwarded it to the insurance and police. As it clears their driver of any fault

Coffeeholic:
That was a wobble, wasn’t even a swerve never mind a fishtail.

You may need a visit to specsavers, the car almost goes sideways after clipping the blue truck, he then gets a good wobble just missing (or clipping) the centre barrier, then moves on.

For someone who likes coffee you might need to wake up and smell a cup if you think a dash cam is for the self righteous. It can save a lot of hassle when needed and serve as a good giggle substance when not. Just like the old days when drivers used to tell stories over their pints at the truckstop, those stories now become ‘live’ - it’s called moving with the times

you get to see the passenger door  so its more than a wobble  :grimacing:

Coffeeholic what a bellend you are , only a ■■■■ wouldn’t want footage of an accident that wasn’t there fault and could clear them of any blame

Witnesses are completely unreliable and often exaggerate things, skewing what really happened. Look here where a little wobble after clipping a kerb has become a ‘fishtail’. With witnesses like that your better off without.

I was involved in an accident last Saturday between Luton and Harpenden on the B653. Car hit my car up the arse, I got out, called the idiot driver a few choice words, got back into my vehicle and carried on with my day. Didn’t mess about with witnesses or anything else, crap happens, move on. My car drove okay and when I got home later had a look and not much in the way of damage so not the end of the world. Didn’t need some Dash Cam Warrior getting all aroused and posting it on YouTube making it out to be far worse than it was.

Let’s hope the other driver didn’t take your plate, decide to cover his arse about the damage by contacting the police and his insurance company saying that you brake tested him, forced the collision, got out of your car and threatened him, then sped away from the scene of the crash you caused? End up Facing several charges and a claim.
But hey, you’re the big clever man and you can sort that out all on your own, you don’t need witnesses…

She might do that, and I really don’t care enough to worry whether she does or not and it wouldn’t be the end of the world if she did, but I guess I would have heard by now if she had and I had a witness in the car with me anyway should it have been needed. A witness I know who isn’t going to exaggerate things and I wouldn’t have to waste time contacting.

Like your witness the dashcam is admissable in court, like your witness the footage will not exagerate, like your witness it too will be easily contactible.

Same difference really.

Almost. So that means he didn’t go sideways then; almost doing something means it didn’t happen. For example there will be football games today where a team almost wins but the game ends in a draw. Exaggeration number one

Honked:

Hardly a good wobble, it’s a slight wobble which he corrects quickly. Exaggeration number two.
A fishtail as claimed is an uncontrollable swerving of the rear of the vehicle. Witnesses exaggerate things.

They are mostly for people who like to interfere in stuff that isn’t their concern and then stick it up on social networking. The dash cam footage posters tend not to post videos of their own ■■■■ ups but are happy to lay into others driving when it upsets them which makes them self righteous in my book.

Honked:

I agree, that’s why companies fit them but it’s their truck and their insurance so it’s their business and they tend to keep the footage in house.

Honked:

I don’t see it as good giggle substance, not much to raise a giggle in the video on this thread.

Based on the fact that you’re a Mod, I will temper my response.

You’re an idiot.

Aww come on, I’m a bit bored today and trying for a bit of an argument and that’s all you’ve got. Boo.

I went out to work after making a few posts this morning expecting to come back from work a couple of hours later and have loads to respond to, and there was very little. I gotta try harder. :stuck_out_tongue: Or switch to one of my other usernames. :exclamation:

wouldnt you rather someone stuck up for you or you get blamed for an accident that wasnt your fault

I would rather people would not get involved in stuff involving me when it doesn’t concern them and leave me to sort my own [zb] out thank you.

Why would you post that on YouTube if you’ve already emailed it to the company or the police, serves no purpose other than the usual dash cam crap?

First let me say I am no fan of people putting things on You Tube,or any so called " social media " with the sole idea of showing the world what they believe to be wrong-doing.
I was walking in the town centre, when I saw a young girl trying to reverse into a tight ■■■■■■■■■■■■. She gently bumped the car parked behind her. Out of the car she bumped, staggered a man,a woman, and three teenage children, all of whom surrounded the young girl clutching their necks and wailing uncontrolably.
The poor lass burst into tears. I told the family exactly what I thought of them, and waited till they had exchanged names and addresses I gave the girl my name and phone number, advised her to drive off and park some where else.
Strangely enough she didn’t tell me to not get involved with things that didn’t concern me. Her parents rang me later to thank me for my help.
It did not make me feel " self righteous " and before you say it I would have done the same for anyone, vulnerable young girl or not.
Regards. John.
P.S nice back track

Not that old chestnut again. “I’ve said something daft so I’ll pretend I was just on a windup to save a bit of face”.

I never said I was on a wind up,I meant and still mean everything I said. I was just hoping for a better argument.

+1

I’ll have you know I am offended by the term ■■■■, as are all Mongolians. They are a rpoud and intelligent race of people.

I would prefer the you guys use the term ■■■■■■ instead.

 :smiling_imp:

" They are a rpoud and intelligent race…"

Don’t worry Bob,i for one will never call you a ‘■■■■’.

Coffeeholic:
I was just hoping for a better argument.

You and me both. The one you’ve provided doesn’t make any sense though.

Have you been drinking since breakfast?

I would prefer the you guys use the term ■■■■■■ instead.

Yeh and I’ll have you know… I personally find that word more offensive … than ■■■■.

That will probably be the end of this post now everyone is using offencive terms ■■■■ and ■■■■■■ thanks guys. I was just expecting people to say well done or about time people helped other drivers. Did not expect the I will look after myself coffeeholic brigade.
