Dangerous Drivers?

snafu:
Well it seems we are wrong :open_mouth:

I am reliably informed it can be used in the same way as a supermarket CCTV can be used, provided it is date and time stamped and there is the paperwork to show accuracy :exclamation:

Thats fair enough and has cleared that bit up. I was relating it to the law regarding recordings of telephone conversations and the fact that it is illegal unless you have informed the other party and they have agreed that fact.

Maybe Chippy should have a notice on the vehicle this equipment is in so we can give him a toot and a wave to acknowledge that our dangerous driving can and will be used as evidence against us.

Sorry Chippy, just a touch of sarcasm to lighten the mood.

As I have pointed out my gripe is not truck related.

However there was an artic driver following me the other day on the A5 for 20 minutes using a mobile phone. He was to close and seemed oblivious to the fact. I have not reported the incident, but if anything happend due to his distraction to me or other road users then the whole 20+ minutes was on film.

I have recorded plenty of silly driving behaviour, mostly by idiot car and van drivers. If a crash happens then I may have invaluable footage of events leading up to the impact .

There are signs on the back of the car quite clearly informing other drivers the cameras are in use. This conforms with data protection.

Many drivers do not give the novice a chance and will do the most dangerous stuff to get past them. I am sure members can remember when they learned to drive and some of the pressure they felt when doing so.

It is now worse than ever for the learner. With more impatient, rude and downright dangerous tactics used by the driving public than ever before.

This getting to be a pointless post full of insults now. I really can’t be arsed to go back and edit all the namecalling out, so if it carries on like this I shall simply lock the ■■■■ thing.

In formal language:

THIS IS A YELLOW CARD.

Respect.

I’ve just seen this on another thread. It seems cut & dried good sense for us to think on.

‘…i dont ask you to break the law by going over your hours so dont expect me to break the law by going over the speed limit…’

Just delete it Lucy …
It’s another pointless speed debate, one of many in the week . Week after week.
It is becoming really bloody boring…
Can we have the overtaking debate this week and then flashing people back in debate next week ?
:unamused:

What else is there left to debate then, the CPC, done, Digi cards, done, price of fuel, done. Truckstops, done, MSA’s, done. Vosa, done, traffic police, done.

I know lets have a speelling debait or tryping errot deblate

Bad drivers should be done

As were all agreed,I think,we wish to be looked upon as professional drivers doing a professional job.If all other professions decided to bend the rules as and when it suited them,or to get them home,or finished early, where would that leave us.Even if they knew it was safe to do so.The most obvious profession being the medical one.Where would we be if Dr.Watson has an important dinner date tonight, and leave the patient with one or two stitches short? Its the same principal, probably get away with it most of the time, but what if?As was said earlier, ones luck runs out sometime. Before Im linched, yes I have sped, do speed, and probably wil speed again, but just because another professional decides to try and do things right, lets not scapegoat him/her.

no it is not you noodles. i had a blue chip company artic follow me on the whitby moor road last week there was a thick sea mist but i was keeping up a good speed 42 43 or so he was so close to me i could not ease up to let him pass me when able to do so. he did dive past me and i kid you not on the bendy part a mile or so before the flask. i would not care but he was not farr in front of me when i bot to scarborough

Few, Looks like this one is cooling down a bit.
We know some of these speed limits are crap and should be changed, but that is how it is, and doesn’t look like getting changed.
Some truck drivers are habitual speeders as if they have just passed a car test, but sometimes the job dictates that you have to get your finger out to get the job done, for your benefit or the companies
Some days , if the mood takes me, i will stick to all the speed limits, but if i see, like last week two loggers behind me doing the FanDango, then at the next layby i pull in and let them go.
I thought they were empty but they were loaded, twenty miles later, after not seeing them since they overtook me, i caught them up going upto Sutton Bank.
Gain NIL.
They would have got there at the same time.
No big deal, if you want to stick at 40, pull in and let those who need to go mega, go.
Less stress all round. Chill.
By the way, not a new driver, done all round euope and into Asia since 1980.

THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST ANNOYING POST OF THE YEAR!

And i can’t believe you thought you’d get away with name calling in code. Move on.

Hi Okey-Didley-Dokely, sorry to have to be the one to say this, but we’ve done both of those too.

A fine old time with spelling and grammar was had by all, as you can see from the two pages :arrow_right: HERE

I’m sure that there will be some repetition of topics, but as new members join, I think that might give the topics some fresh perspective and alternative viewpoints. IMHO, your input to this very topic is a good example of my point and has certainly added some interest to a topic that’s been done before.
