I have a duty of care to my customers. If some idiot driver gets it wrong through reckless or dangerous driving then I will have them in court… Including any truck drivers.

The equipment is widely available anywhere and is used in insurance claims, there is nothing new here. It comes in handy for coaching drivers and teaching the novice.

By the way a fair few of my pals are coppers, the ones who you don’t see till your nicked   nod nod

Ps It can even see you on the phone

I do hope thats not a threat. nod nod

Sorry man, and not sinking to the level of insults, i think the term you’ll find yourself labelled with is “Coppers Nark”.

Have many friends do you?? Owing to admission of your activities, I certainly wouldn’t want to be. (Its a trust thing)

Anyway, I wasn’t aware that video evidence produced in this way could be admissible in court. For insurance purposes, yes, as that is what they are designed for. Even if you are filming yobs outside your house, is it not soley for the purposes of a video diary?

Just another note, do you have to remove one of your hands from the wheel to start or stop this equipment■■? As you stated, you are able to take it from vehicle to vehicle so its not hard wired to a stalk is it.

As I have plenty of friends, (un)? fortuntately, none are members of the blue brigade, so maybe someone could confirm or deny my above statement.

The equipment is mainly used to protect learner drivers from dangerous tailgaters and other bully boy tactics used by so called qualified drivers.

I do not use it to spy on behalf of the plod.

There are signs on the car which tell drivers it is in use.

Ther are many gadgets on the market for this purpose.

The recordings conform with the data protection act.

It is very useful for replaying errors commited by the novice./ qualified drivers also.

It can record the driver, what’s in front and whats behind and has audio.

Idon’t need to touch it when driving. I have a remote control when using the gear with learners which I operate from the passenger seat.

Learners need space and time, something that most drivers have forgot.

In fact many drivers have forgotten everything they were taught

I find some of the more idiot replies on here offensive. If any one wants to drive like an idiot then so be it. Like I said “Luck runs out”

If I see someone driving like an idiot I will report them and being my car has digital recording cameras to the front and back the evidence will be there for all to see.

This equipment can easily be transfered to any truck I drive.

When I have done some covert filming I will upload the captured video on here if allowed or on You tube.I use this gear for training drivers and instructors and also helping Eastern Europeans understand the sometimes idiotic design of British roundabouts and road markings.

And before you all go off on one about Poles etc, they get paid exactly the same as British people I deal with and are in the main more pleasant.

Oh such perfection in your lifestyle, you never do anything wrong do you not.

And on Saturday afternoons you can be found at the end of the platform at Wolverhampton station taking locomotive numbers.

Are we supposed to be impressed at your electronic wizardry, remember this is a truckers website and most ruckers would punch you if they met you not thank you.

how well do you know these coppers, nod nod, know what I mean nod nod nudge nudge, wink wink say no more.

Nothing wrong with train spotting!!! nod nod nudge nudge
PS I sat the whole length of the A422 the other week doing 40 mph and my fellow truckies were waving and mouthing sweet nothings too me, bless them! LOL. Not really.

Good morning Okey. I don’t like trains. The coppers are colleagues of mine iinvolved with advanced driver training. Many are ex coppers, all are class 1 and have been trained at Hendon ,most under the auspicious eye of Chris Gilbert.

Okey. I do drive trucks and have a great interest in them and those that drive them. As for being MR Perfect I am far from it.

However i’m passionate about driving and road safety and improving standards on our roads. If there is something wrong with that then please expand.

Nothing wrong with that Maybe you and your collegues should teach people how to use a slip road correctly unless of course i have forgotten. I would would think twice about issuing threats on here there’s an awful lot of us on here that dont take it to kindly as you can see rfrom the posts.

Nothing wrong with improving standards, I fully agree with you on that.
But threatening drivers with recording them trying to get the job done and trying not to be impeded by drivers hell bent on causing as much delay as poosible on a road that does not jsutify a 40 limit stinks of, an holier than thou attitude.

Driving was a job at one time that only a certain type of person would do, with cabs that had no heating and it took a week to get from Scotland to London and back, it was real working class job. Now we’be got big comfy cabs and tautliners, better roads and motorways, you’ve now got the middle classes wanting a piece of the action even guys with a nevous dispossition want to have a go.
Now in there wisdom the powers that be are making the job one that needs qualifications and taking away the chance for the less educated to drive trucks for a living.
Have a survey of truckers about their education and I guarentee that the majority are have little or no formal qualifications, I myself left school at 14 with no qualifications but am still a f’ing good driver.

Now your telling me that I’m not good enough to be a driver because I flaunt the law which in my view is a stupid law on some roads. Yes if the road warants it I drive to or below the limit, but if the road is rural straight and the conditions are right I will go over thwe limit. That is where my experiance comes in and if I come across a truck that is doing 40 and I feel it is safe to pass him I will do.

You are a driving snob, what makes you think you are a better driver than any member on here because you’ve taken a course in advanced motoring, a self promoting body, oh I forgot you have ex police as members and instructors, I’ve seen some bad driving by the police, I’ve even seen a motorway police car run into the back of another car on the M25 in fairley light traffic.

What your advocating is not promoting safe driving your promoting elitism.

I may not have the eloquance that you and happy kieth have but I have a passion about driving that is second to none, safe skillfull driving and not my way or noi way that you say we should do.

Since when have I issued a threat?

I use the equipment for teaching purposes and protecting the novice.

Okey. I left school at 14 too, with no qualifications.

Ther are as far as I can gather no formal qualifications to become a truck driver.

The cpc has been introduced by the EU. This has been bought in to maintain and improve standards and give the novice a better understanding of the job.

Whether the government bods have got it right, who knows.

I am not telling you your’e a bad driver, I have never seen you drive.

It is up to me if I wish to better myself. Companies are very proactive on driver training due to new laws involving the corperate manslaughter act. Good for them I say. :open_mouth:

Well it seems we are wrong :open_mouth:

I am reliably informed it can be used in the same way as a supermarket CCTV can be used, provided it is date and time stamped and there is the paperwork to show accuracy :exclamation:

Well after all that. :exclamation: My main problem is with car drivers not truckers.

Most keep their distance which shows understanding. I must point out, it is the artic drivers that show most respect in regard to the novice

Same is true, as said before, of us. Most truckers give us room and it is greatly appreciated
