Daily Covid 19 Testing

gov.uk/government/news/first … ed-by-mhra

Strange how in a high risk group wasn’t only firstly refused a third Astra Zeneca specific booster jab request, but also not even informed about, let alone offered, anti virals after positive PCR and according to doctor potentially serious symptoms.
I’ll await Franglais’ view on that.

Unfortunately the hospitals are mainly filled with unvaccinated people who are seriously ill.

You are an idiot.

Charming! Coming from someone who said doctors stood around doing nothing all day. That is just one of your clueless
comments proving you are living in a world of delusion.

Just because your opinion is different to mine you call me an idiot. Do some research and show me that the people in hospital are not younger and unvaccinated because that seems to be what I am hearing from many different sources some of which are 100% reliable.

PS I take it you are young and unvaccinated.

The point is the hospitals are not full of any Covid patients, whether vaccinated or not. Covid patients account for less than 10% of all patients, and they’re only there because they are not being treated properly before they need to go to hospital.

Yes I’m young and I have no need for any vaccines because I have natural life long immunity. I have no problem with anyone else in possession of the facts and the risks from taking the vaccine (the risks are comparable with facing the disease - except that the risks are faced by a different group). My only concern is that the NHS is shut to patients because they are so busy giving out needless jabs.

lolipop:
Dont see a problem testing for what time it takes LFT to do,10 seconds to twiddle the stick up each nostrel 20 seconds to put drops on the slide, wash shave shower make a cuppa, check for results, job done. Do what you can to stay safe, dont be selfish think of others, nobody can asks for anymore.

You are selfishly putting the country in ever increasing debt to pay fortunes for all these waste of time tests.

stu675:
Since when did anyone need to go to hospital or the GP surgery for a jab.
We can now turn the argument back on them why are people being denied AZ boosters and approved anti viral meds being kept under wraps.

The gubernment are introducing daily testing…

Remind me again, who supplies all these tests :unamused: .

I am young and unvaccinated and I’m sick of this crap if it goes on for 1 more year I’m emigrating to Belarus or Africa. I had it and I survived, you old ■■■■■ won’t be around to live through the decades of devastating consequences of this whole fiasco. Take your jab and move on. I’ll ahve mine when I hit 50

Well it’s the Chinese! That’s where they all come from.
But I guess the point you’re making is it’s us paying for them.

The lateral flow tests appear to be made in China for the most part.

Jabs are not mandatory, but not having one could restrict what you can do. I am neither old nor young, but more an age where I know I am not invincible. Taking the jabs offered was an absolute no brainer for me. I would hate to end up in hospital as one of the ones that isn’t jabbed. This information is available to the hospital staff at the click of a button.

People who fully undertand the situation have their jabs. No doubt there will be far more unjabbed in hospital wishing they had had them but as you say Noremac some think they are invincible.
In reality they are the ones helping this to drag on.

Yep young and not really aware of much going on. These needless jabs as you stupidly call them have saved thousands of lives, Old and young believe it or not.

You’re just continuing to show yourself to be unaware of the facts.

Local private GP practice - non of the Doctors are jabbed, they all consider it still to be experimental.

Here’s another consideration:

A close friend of mine works at a driving school, one of the newer trainers has proven himself to be a dyed-in-the-wool anti-vaxxer and conspiracy-theorist. This week he was found slumped over the steering wheel in one of the artics, displaying a range of covid symptoms (high temperature, coughing etc).

Naturally he was sent home (not driving his own vehicle) but only after extreme pressure was put on him. Meanwhile his trainee from the day before had to be given the not-so-good news.

A valuable test-slot went to waste, a dedicated trainee is not too happy (to say the least), and the company is left with egg on it’s face, all because one one man’s irresponsibility. :unamused:

Do you think you taking your 3rd jab (and how often do you test?) Will bring this to a close?
Come back and tell me after your 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th ad infinitum and tell me when you think it will end.

In my experience there is no hold up in care for patients due to anything COVID related , I was told by consultant just before Xmas I’d would go into hospital in new year , I’ve a phone consultation with anaesthetist on 10 th jan , COVID test at Boston hospital on 29 th jan , go into hospital on 1 st feb , which I think is good , it’s been like that for me for the last 2 yrs at Grantham , Boston , Lincoln & Peterborough hospital , only one I had cancelled was heart ( but that is a murmur we believe I’ve had since a kid )
I’ve a daughter / sister who are nurses , a wife who is nhs and they continue to do the job they’ve always done , though daughter works on a COVID only ward from what she tells me , but that is here job to look after I’ll people be in t COVID or whatever

Do you realise that an equal number of deaths and injury has come from the vaccine as the virus? If you are at risk you should take the vaccine, but not if you’re not at risk. Treatment and prevention with oral/nasal rinses makes far more sense.

Well Done!
In a few hours there is more stupidity, ignorance, and unsubstantiated rumour, lies, and falsehoods than from anyone else on TNUK that springs to mind, and all laced with more than a little hubris.
Excellent work to post so much rubbish in only a few lines.

Some posters seem to me to have a slightly off centred view of the world, you seem to have joined a couple of others on a totally different planet than the rest of us.

Now I would love to see a link to verify that absolute bull from a reliable source.

So why did the government refuse to let me have an Astra Zeneca booster.
Why aren’t those tested positive automatically offered anti virals depending on symptoms.Or possibly even not dependent on sysmptoms because no one can take a course of oral anti virals when they’ve deteriorated to the point of being hooked up to a ventilator and not much point long before then anyway because the damage to the cardio and/or respiratory system has already been done.

It’s clear that immunisation will only get anyone so far with a pathogen that we have no long term immunity to.Anti virals by definition are the first line of defence to a …virus.
But they cost money lots of it.How many times do we hear doctors telling us that anti biotics don’t work against a virus. No zb sherlock.Their answer is then go home and potentially die of viral pneumonia to save the cash of prescribing anti virals. When, as in this case, they know that they work.
