its no surprise why some cyclists are killed if the one I nearly hit today is anything to go by,i came along the A214 trinity road, drivers that have been down there will know how narrow it is,i am going towards wandsworth when this van pulls out from a side rd in front of me,bit close for comfort I thought then this cyclist rode straight out in front of me,how I never hit her I will never know, she did not even bother to stop and wait, just came straight out then struggled to try and pedal away,i was only doing about 25MPH but I came so close to her being dragged under the wheels of my wagon, they just do not think half the time
Occupational hazard I’m afraid, although I’m surpised the squashed cyclist isn’t more of a common site treat them all with extra caution as the PC, pro-cycling, I have a bike and I know what I’m doing brigade will be on your casein a heart beat.
I save a cyclists life at least once a week
Just use the mantra that a cyclist always has right of way (as the more vunerable road user) and life will run smoother…
Its never the fault of the cyclist…

T’is they just find it hard to admit to it

Yep shocking stuff as mentioned.
In the scheme of things truck drivers have a purpose and cyclists are just a nuisance.

I don’t see a cyclist in that clip?
I thought the OP was on about a cyclist pulling out in front of him.
My bad, sorry for butting in on your monthly anti cycling love fest.

Disgarecful bringing in the usual crap lorry driving shenanigans into a cyclist bashing opportunity…
At the end of the day we are all in this together and cyclists should be respected and given as much room as possible, we have a duty to protect them …(WTF I must be ■■■■■■■

I hope you are - cyclists are a pain…especially when there are cycle lanes and they don’t use them
But they do use them, when they’re fit for purpose & not blocked by cars, vans & yes, dare I say, lorries!

Not always
But if we all did everything correctly all the time forums like this wouldn’t exist.
If you don’t cycle on the roads you have no idea what it’s like these days.
I seen karma giving a cyclist sore goolies last week. Sitting at the traffic lights outside the O2 Academy on Eglinton St, Glasgow, when a cyclist done the usual thing where they come through all the stationary traffic and pull in front of you at the front of the queue. To be fair, he at least stopped for the red light. But when the lights turned to green, Mr Cyclist went to pull away and his chain snapped. Thought the clock had struck 2pm, but it was just his balls ringing after them banging off the crossbar on his bike.:lol:

I’ve had that happen to me whilst attempting to ride Mt Snowdon on the Llanberis path. I can do about three quartes of the mountain without pushing, but when the gradient is so steep you have to have most of your torso over the bars and when that chain snaps boy does it hurt.
Ouch ^^^^. Can you imagine how painful that would’ve been if your stones had actually dropped?
