Can I just add, I note your motorcycle picture, so I presume you are a biker too. Well the woman who hit Wiggins was a biker too. Shouldn’t she ought to have known better through the experience of her bike riding ? Just for the record, I ride my bike and now and again trucks get stuck behind me. I do my best to pull over as much as possible or even pull in if it’s safe to do so and I’m going up a hill (as I average around 23 mph on the straight and faster down hill). I also sit behind trucks if I catch them up at lights etc. Sometimes the slipstream is a great help to get you going again.
As for the guy who said about why are cyclists allowed to race on the highway…they/we are not. If I go out with a club then there may well be 10+ riders and we ride 2 by 2. Just because there is a lot of riders together it doesn’t mean that we are racing.
In the truck you see all sorts of horrific driving as EVERYONE knows on this site. Get on a bike and you will see a whole new kettle of fish !
Why is it that the most vulnerable road users are the ones that tend to ride least defensively and moreover seem to want to agressively demand their rights.
This just seems to leave a lot of greiving families and mentally destroyed drivers.

Was the tour de france in scotland last saturday? Cause it felt like it on the a977, loads of the bastarts and fully loaded with a heavy load trying to overtake 30 or so of them is pretty tough. Then when you do… you feel all chuffed with yourself then you get round another bend and there is another group of 20 of the buggers
I dont mind cyclists usually only behind them for less than a minute but in large groups on twisty roads its murder.
hi all, i was stuck behind a young blond cyclist with lycra shorts from perth to dalwhinne !!! before she realised somewon was tailgating her. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm hubbu bubbu yum yum
There are some stupid people in all walks of life. The cyclist on the East Lancs road yesterday was doing everything right. It was dark and raining, he was on the cycle path. He had all hi-viz gear on and one of them newer bike lights that are really bright so you could see him…shame he was going against the traffic with his lights on even though the cycle path is seperate to the carriageway. Anyone with not as good eye sight as others may have wondered what the hell it was coming towards them. Any cyclist using the road at night with no lights should be given a heavy penalty. They are £4 for a set of light f f s !
