milkmantom, yes this location is Bank End, near Thursby the yard is fairly overgrown these days. This Dodge was one of the very first bulk blowers in ■■■■■■■ with a Callow Rotary Seal fitted to the back of I think a Dunspencer bulk body.
Bewick, I am not sure what engine was fitted but inclined to think it was a Leyland 350 or 375. I can certainly remember the vehicle.
Cheers . Leyland 600.

Was Bank End, Thursby,Tom? and what spec was the motor,Perkins,Leyland engine, eaton two speed ? Cheers Dennis,PS “CG” will know eh! he probably “spotted it” yesterday, and Fred would have been driving it ! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

If you look very closely at the lower part of the grille Dennis, you will see the Perkins logo, although that doesnt mean 100% a Perkins, but a good judgement I think.

David you are quite right about the Perkins badge so I think it’s fair to assume that it had a 6.354 engine. And I am a dozy ■■■■ for not looking more closely by “blowing the shot up” before asking a stupid question !! Cheers Dennis.

Seeing as we got the make of engine wrong L600 ! Then what year abouts would the photo have been taken, very early 60’s maybe? Cheers Dennis.

its a hard un for us youngun,s dennis better wait for gerald

this has date on 1958

i mean 1956 ive put me glasses back on

milkmantop, I guess it would be about 1959 -60, there was another Chinese six Dodge tipper running about at the same time painted blue and belonged to someone from Thurtonfield but cannot think of the name J.B Hodgson springs to mind but cannot be sure at all. Fred B had two Albion Chieftain long wheelbase wagons dating from about 1954/5 with sideboards on they looked like flats not tippers they were used to haul limewith square mouthed shovel discharge into the spreaders. These both had the very attractive Bobby Hind coachbuilt cabs with curved perspex quarter lights that were moulded to shape in the cooling ovens of Sproat,s bakery in Denton Holme.
Cheers L 600.

thank,s L600 good info

Without upsetting Bewick and others , the Green Pimpernel have their own thread . That is where this should have been posted.
The Chuckle Brothers will do anything for cheap publicity.

Next years theme for them : Fiona will be the Virgin Mary , and Mark Dixon will be Jesus. A.T. and W.S. will be two of the Three Wise Men, and Im sure " our man Bewick" would be able to name
the other one in the line-up.

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Oh yes, Dave. I do support " Help for Heroes " , an will donate . But as I say,… Stobbies will try any trick for
cheap publicity , so I would contribute to “H.F.H.” in ways other than a send-up for The Green Pimpernel.

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Come on Cattle Wagon man, as Dave says, get your money out. Its the best Christmas song since Shaking Stevens`s “Merry Christmas everyone”

I’ve bought it twice and also given Help for Heroes £15.00, a charity I would normally not give too even though it is an excelent cause.

Kindest regards
