hiya,
Can never remember Tony being on for Bowker, I worked for them
in the mid 60s and again in the very early 70s he must have done
his bit between my two stints he never said anything and we did
trough many a pint together and met up at least for one session a
week, he lived near his parking place with his mam and sister i think.

I have no hestitation in saying he was “numero ono” at his craft and Possy and me have been the best of mates for 40 odd years,he’s the only bloke I would ever, probably still would, take a “bollocking” off without answering back !!Cheers mate Dennis.

I’m only in the little 3.5 Tonner for now, waiting to get my hands on the big wheels
We do very little out of Holme Park these days as theirs no Tarmac plant in there, and we stick to the black stuff as much as possible (Stone struggles to cover costs these days)

Maybe Dennis will know the answer, who used to haul out of Tornado Wire MIllom in the 80’s and 90’s?
Think Terry Burns a local lad did. Tyson Burridge did it not so long ago
He had tautliners with there name on Canutte do it now Frank
harry_gill:
hiya,
Fairly certain this motor was driven by a lad who lived in Darwen,
it used to be parked alongside the main road on a bit of waste land
opposite my then local the guy was called Tony who I think moved
to Barrow eventually, he was a very likeable lad and no doubt was
still with Brady’s at the end then over to TDG he’ll be just about off
the road as an OAP by now but he’s the type who would have gone
on for as long as he was allowed he loved the job.
thanks harry, long retired.
Was he called Tony Stone, or something similar?

hiya,
240 it’s over 40 years since I’ve seen Tony he was on for Brady’s then
and I would have been on for Deans of Darwen his surname i thought
was Edwards, a big ambling lad always grinning and a nicer bloke you
couldn’t wish to meet sorry I can’t be more certain about his surname.
