Hello georgeking
■■■■■■■ Cold Storage runs 10 lorries, all Scania, and hauls chilled foods and also does Bulk Haulage. Most of the bulk work is done for British Gypsum and out of Workington Docks.
They run a very smart fleet and this thread should look at them more

P.S What do you think of the Stobart car transporter photos I posted on the Eddie Stobart Spotters Thread? I think they are excelent.

For your infomation Cattle Wagon Man, I was at home with a viral infection and I have been off work since Wednesday.
I was actually hoping to come if I hadn’t got this infection. Doctor seems to think it’ll take a week to get shot off.
I wouldn’t have got lost. I know where Flectertown is. I’m really sorry I missed it by what I’ve heard was shown.

The Lawson picture was taken on Red Scar Industrial Estate in Preston next door to Ian Parkinson’s. They must have left Lawsons by then but I don’t know who had them or where they were going. Probably a sale with all the trailers.

Hello trcukfing
Thankyou for that infomation marra. Actually, Lawsons still run one Foden like that on heavy haulage and yard shunting. Although the company has invested in DAF’s after the demise of Foden, they still run a big number of Fodens

This one ■■

Hello truckfing
Yes, thats the one  ! Excelent photo marra.
Have you got any photos of Lawsons new livery? Its a white and blue livery?

Is it just me, or the angle of the picture, does that trailer look incredibly short?

It could be the same as this one that has a moveable bogie

hiya,
Dennis are you driving or trailer boying when passing so’s I know to keep my window up or down some of you trailer boys became quite proficient at the noble art of using the knotted rope and I don’t want to get caught unawares, now Dennis changing the subject a bit you did trailer boy duties for a while did you get to be any good at shunting them about, I only ever had one lad who could do the full job ie back into a loading bay they could all manage in a straight line but the lad I had for a while was a former driver of wag and drag outfits but was taken off the road due to failing eyesight but luckily he was with me in my early days and was a brilliant tutor, he retired from working with me but he taught me well and you never forget.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hiya “H”,yes I did get to try my hand now and again if we were standing about somewhere waiting and there was abit of room !!I got the hang of it OK but I was on with a master,Eric, and he could reverse the Octopus and trailer as fast or faster than an artic driver. It was a pleasure to watch him put the trailer into some places, the comments we used to get from the crane drivers, slingers ect like"if I hadn’t seen that with my own eyes Boyo I wouldn’t have believed it" There was only two places that it was necessary to “nose” the trailer in and that was one bay in The Abbey and a bay at MB Breeze Lane in Liverpool.Other than that the trailer was a fixture at the back of the Octopus ! Happy Days Cheers Dennis.

Hi Dennis & “H” ,
Youve got me worried now - and probably everyone else who was as that Slideshow last night . This virus could be dangerous to our health. Perhaps we should all be vaccinated , to prevent the outbreak from spreading. These diseases can play havoc with ones immune system.

Oh , by the way , ■■■■■■■■ Gill , I hope you soon make a full resumption of your faculties.
All of us on TNUK wish you well . Don`t we , Dennis,…Dennis ?,…I said we all…

I really liked JC Hope - Gosforth livery.
top man was david hope only fault he had was he could never say no if a job came in it was always yes then think about how it was going to be done back in the early to mid nienghtys when the fish factory at hensingham was in its busy period and we still had the dawnfresh seafoods contract shipping seafoods to just about every point of the uk and even as far as italy with prawns that were imported to dawnfresh at bothwell factory from china . David ran at the most 5 units plus a hire merc plus many other locals owner drivers like Richard cook ,edwin cook, Gordon thompson ,Ike teasdale Jimmy rothery .and am sure i have missed a few .but how times change now DAVID Hope juniour who looks after things at gosforth only runs the 3 units .how times have changed since the tigthening up of the fish quotas and the rise in fuel costs it seamed hard for any fish industy in west ■■■■■■■ to survive . only seafood products we do now are the fresh scallops witch are landed at anyport around the uk with less restrictions . great to see a pic of phh 973x she was the first unit i drove for david great truck . ended its days at cragg and cuttres as a shunter.not sure if they might still have her …if any one knows could they let me know would be great ta see what state she is in now …

Hello cattle wagon man
Don’t worry, Its not dangerous to your health unless you’ve been in contact with me. Lucky, I’m over the worst and I haven’t been in contact with anyone who went to the show on Saturday

And Thankyou for wishing me well. Such a pitty some members of TNUK can’t wish me well (no names mentioned).
I too hope I’ll be back on my feet soon and that I won’t have passed the virus onto anyone else. Its been bloody murder since Wednesday and I wouldn’t wish anyone to have this.
Kindest regards
