Hiya “H”,you should have joined in last night, after all I think by the tone of the posts you are one of my “cronies”,along with a few of the other lads!! What I would like to know is how did the Radnor Stasi find out that you ran all your posts on the ■■■■■■■■ threads past me first prior to me instructing you all to submit them?. I really must tighten up security when I am dealing with my “cronies”,any idea who it was that “grassed” “H”? I’ve broad shoulders though “H”,I’ve had to have !! Cheers Dennis.

Have I missed summet here? a bit of drama? or have some posts been removed :unamused: since I was on here last?

Bloody hell am I getting conceited or what :unamused: I’ m actually quoting myself now
Just caught up on the said" drama" on the ■■■■ tipper thread so I get the jist of it now, so just to add my contribution (although it’s got sod all to do with me :unamused:  ) I don’t agree for one minute that Denis was bullying the lad I know it was just a bit of a wind up and banter, (as I have done myself in the past) and I have no reason or desire to cross swords with Denis, but the lad seems to have a good knowledge and interest in transport, admittedly a bit naive sometimes( especially his fascination with Stobarts which more than likely is the underlying reason for all the stick) but he is only 18, and it’s a bit of a rarity for the public today ,let alone an 18yr old, to view the haulage ind in high esteem, so maybe we should give him a bit of leeway, (except for the Stobart thing of course, that goes without saying  )

All I can add “robroy” is that this CG geezer is only supposed to be 18 but he’s quoting that he had seen a South ■■■■■■■■ tipper in 2002 when by my reckoning he would have been 8,or has that nasty “bewick” man got it all wrong !! And we are expected to swallow all this garbage,he’s probably a “fast eddie” troll if the truth be known.'Away and boil yer heed marra !! Bewick.

Bewick, I have had an interest in Lorries (since I was 5) and Haulage Companies since I was 8.
PLEASE STOP TAKEING THE MIKEY OUT OF ME. AREN’T YOU PLEASED THAT YOUNG PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN HAULAGE?
Kindest regards

Look son, at the risk of sticking my neb in …(.Again :unamused:…) Here’s a bit of advice from an old trucker… (I DID say old TRUCKER  )…
If you are planning to be a driver when you are 21, trust me… you are gonna get a hell of a LOT more stick than what you get on here…fact, the best way to deal with it is laugh it off and give some more back, the thing you don’t do is ask to be left alone because that just brings it on even more, remember…it’s only a wind up. It’s good to see a lad interested in transport and good on yer, but as I said it comes with the territory, and as I have told you before … don’t believe everything you hear about Stobarts, and about Bert & Ernie being the Messiahs of transport.

 hi, robroy, i think you can tell by a recent post, that i wasnt refering to you in anyway, :open_mouth: anyway how can anyone call this forum bullying :unamused: :unamused: its pure nostalgia and a bit of banter thrown in, a few years ago i hit a branch doing farm deliveries with a 15.7 trailer, i was called the ■■■■■■■■ tree surgeon for months, but i lived ,still work a the same firm with the same lads :sunglasses: anyhow blx till it all enjoy the photos :slight_smile:and chill

CG, I have been interested in wagons from a similar age. My uncle used to give me his copies of CM when he had read them and as soon as I could I was out with him in his wagon and when my dad started driving (I was 10) I was out there every day I could. I had a day out in a tipper passenger seat when I was in Cornwall a few years ago and I still enjoy it just as much but my main connection is through photography now.

Same rhis way.My dad drove lorrries before the war and in the army whilst serving, then drove until he retired. We lived at a small depot that belonged to the firm he worked for, with two lorries parked there every night, also lorries fetching fertilizer from the local railway station to store in buildings at the place. So I grew up seeing lorries coming and going before I went to school and was riding shotgun from an early age.
Cheers Dave.

Thought I’d put a decent shot on the thread for our north ■■■■■■■■ “marras”,well some of them are “marras”,Shot not far from the Congleton factory one late 1979 morning when I was collecting a batch of new Bo-Alloy Tautliners, the finest curtainsider ever made IMHO.It is coupled to a new ERF 8LXB/Fuller9509/Kirkstall HR axle.It was supplied by Eden Commercial Services,Carlisle, and was on Trade Plates prior to going into service on double shift trunking.

Hello truckfing and Dave
Thankyou for your support over my question to Bewick about young people been interested in haulage.
I glad to hear I wasn’t the only one fasinated in Lorries at a young age and I’m also pleased to hear that other people used to read Commercial Motor at 14! I used to spend all my pocket money on Commercial Motor and I’m pround to say I did. I wasn’t interested in anything else, so why not?
Thankyou again marras for you support

The Lawson picture was taken on Red Scar Industrial Estate in Preston next door to Ian Parkinson’s. They must have left Lawsons by then but I don’t know who had them or where they were going. Probably a sale with all the trailers.

Hello trcukfing
Thankyou for that infomation marra. Actually, Lawsons still run one Foden like that on heavy haulage and yard shunting. Although the company has invested in DAF’s after the demise of Foden, they still run a big number of Fodens

Carnforth Truckhaven 1980’s three new Bo-Alloy Tautliners. The first tractor was an ex WCBP from Flimby,I bought about 5 of them from memory which was at the time they sold out to Tankfreight IIRC.

Is it just me, or the angle of the picture, does that trailer look incredibly short?
