I’ve seen that Thompson’s Scania, or it’s twin, most mornings recently while at work, usually heading away from Maryport (Who wouldn’t be? )

Hello truckfing
Thankyou for your efforts to steer the thread back to normality.
I can tell you that the top photo of the Thompsons Scania is pulling a Moblie Crusher, which Thompson run. They have had it for around 5 years and they take it all over the UK (know this because I have family who work at Thompsons).
The J & M Casson DAF CF is pulling a Prime Mollasas Trailer (who are based at Silloth Docks and who subcontract all there haulage to Cassons)

O.K. “H” you can tan his hide if you want and lay it on!! Cheers Dennis.

Hi hodgeturbo,
Great set of pics.Especially liked the pics of the J W Graham Leyland’s in the forests.Very similar countryside to the forests of Mid and North Wales.
Cheers Dave.

Anybody else see the old motors at Kirkbride airfield today?

Yes robroy, I did. I was up there for around 2 hours taking photos. What a excelent turnout.
The J & M Casson Volvo F7 & the Dover & Sons Leyland Comet where the best in the Rally.
Well done to Graham Calvin who is one of the people who puts the rally on.

Hey! Hodge, whats the crack Marra, has Kenneth given you all his archive to put up on the thread ■■,when I was a lad I used to go down the side of Ennerdale,Gillerthwaite? with Alex or Robbie to load pulp wood for Bowaters,Ellesmere Port Mill,I don’t know wether they were subbing off JWG,maybe, maybe not, but I’ve also been into JWG’s old garage a time or two with the Boyes lads so there maybe was some connection eh! I bought a great deal of Scania spares from Graham Commercials over the years I ran Bewick Transport but not many new Scanias, but they were “head and shoulders” by far the best Scania dealer in the UK,although closely followed by Keltruck of West Brom. Kenneth was a great lad to deal with!!! Happy days, cheers Dennis.

The geezer who ran that bonneted Scania was an Elvis tribute act,we passed him on the M6 one day and Anne thought it was Elvis driving it !!! Another time we were at one of Grahams Christmas do’s and they had him playing,he said that Ken had allowed him to set his fee against his repair/spares bill! However, after two or three songs(which weren’t so clever) I was stood at the bar with the late John Irving who asked Ken how much “Elvis” owed him,and said “put it on my account” Ken and get him off!! The whole bar was in hysterics at this “crack” from John!!They were “good nights” the Graham “do’s” at Moota.I once re-call being sat with George at 2:30 a.m. eating Sherry trifle !! Cheers Dennis.
