hi greek, i took the photos off my photobucket site about an hour after i had posted them, cos me file was full and i wanted to put some more on,(could just have bought more room) ahhh bought, nasty word,
anyhow when i deleted them it took them of here as well, see a technophobe like me didnt realise that would happen,
ive been doing holiday cover for mrs, what a cushy number, pity they dont want any drivers, they only use 12 of the 24 hours in a day, wow
i didnt know there was firms like that ■■
so it was wattys, well i was going to suggest hodgsons,
ah well back to doing some more photos, but they wont be owt special, cos people keep down loading them an i lose copyright,
yungnad:
heres one from my special stash, any one copys thisn, and admin will ave emImage
Now listen ere youngnad, don,t be cracking on that you deleted all those pics by accident. You don,t want Jim and me ,and others on here,to copy them on to our pc,s. I thought West ■■■■■■■ lads were big hearted. Copyright! Copyright! WTFs that all about?.Who dyer think yer are? West ■■■■■■■■■ answer to David Bailey?? Gerrem stuck back up, so that Jim, NZ,and Bubbleman , oh, and me, an everyone else, can fill our boots at your expense.

hey, buycrider i have sum gud penrith yans yell enjoy, diffunt git yesell in a tizz, but when a blokes gathered a lock of photos, he dissunt want tom ■■■■ an downloaded tham an claiming there his, or i might as well just give them away or bin em all, an yer diffunt know who mrs is, well a niver, a wudent tell any body,
thats just to let you know i am a ■■■■■■■■■ and when i was a kid going with me old, any body who had a camera either was david bailey or a holuiday maker, because nobody used to take photos of wagons in those days, otherwise we would all have boxes of them wouldnt we ?
dont know if you read classic or heritage commercials, but on the odd occasion i get a welcome cheque for sending in articles providing they have photos, hence the fact i dont mind putting them on here, but i bloody well do if other folk use them elsewhere and claim that they are their own, or just play dumb,
any believe what you want but i shall have to load some more on to my site.
I was jus Jokin nad, me old marra…
I,m a bit of a ■■■■■■■■ meself, having lived here since 1968.but everyone knows where I really come from, when I open me gob," D,ye know worr I mean dare ay!!"
I drove me first Waggon ,an Army 3 ton Bedford QL in Malaya in 1953, but I couldn,t afford a camera on me £3.50 wages, which I needed for booze. After that, it was downhill all the way till I retired in 1999
Keep up the good work. I just wondered where the foties had gone. Best Wishes on the work front BTW.
this is me old boss,s first wagon,he,s still got it, get,s it tested every year and just stands, i think its called sentiment
another in thames board or iggusunds if yer posh
jazzers 1st tautliner
workingtons never been known for wide streets
heres half of fearons fleet, why half?? cos the rests on another photo, i havent found yet
yep as mentioned in another post on here about embarrasing moments, this is the woolwich ferry on a friday, closed to wagons cos some prannets gone and broke down, right on the corner to the slip
,sorry lads
just in case you wondered what goes on, on the old a66 opposite the dalton turn off, its a ■■■■ tank
mrs dunno who that is
got this out of a pack a guy sent me, he went for a run off with his mate and took a load of snaps, theyre spot on all period
theres wagons from all over and a few buses, thisns from westmorland well thats ■■■■■■■ now isnt it,
is that enough for you buycrider, not that i,m gonna put them on here, but i,ve got about 5oo snaps, an evry yan a ■■■■■■■■■ that what comes of me old man being a wagon driver and me too, wouldnt want to be a trucker everybody takes photos of them, i prefer a wagon
well, buycrider i told i was a technophobe, as soon as i put those photos back on me file they appeared back in the same thead, an not the new one, i dunno i think i,ll give up with them
Thats a posh trailer for Johnstones never seen one with a taut before
hello greek, they only had the 1 they had a van as well, at one time they had tippers in eskett quarries as well, i,ve got a couple of fleet photos, one when james senior sold out and one from young james time, the taut was for the dairy or marchon, you would look stupid trying to get a 20 ton lackenby mould on a taut,
.
Going off track slightly does anyone know if harold[big h]is still driving or still alive. He drove for croppers of kendal for yrs, then had triple heart surgery, worked inside the mill on recovery then, got driving again,.Last time i saw him was 9yrs ago at the farm cafe on the a449 to the north of wolverhampton shortly before i ret injured.I also used to see him on the cafe[green portakabin] on the a57 at irlam.Always had a good laugh with him,big fellow with a voice and sense of humour to match.
best regards dave [bilko]
hi george, when they finished i think it was about 13, had 3 depots at one time, all in exotic sounding places,
gilcrux, bothel, bigrigg,
.
.
they never actually went 100% mercs had a few old 1418s mixed in with erfs with gardners in and a lynx and a dagenham
donkey, then got the lps 1418s and 2 erfs with ■■■■■■■ 220 in, then he got 2 lps 1924 one new and one 2nd hand then he went over to scannys, james was very pally with grahams of bass lake, so he decided to go all scannys, but even at the end he still had a erf with a gardner, he once told me, if a driver can drive old “crm” he can drive owt int yard.
one from the memory banks h.o.p=hodgsons of prospect, firms that used to load via jazzers, lunds, hollidays, lees, walter allison, don bewick, onwards, monkhouses, and loads i cant think of without a nostalgia trip.
.
.
more so when they done pat hornsbys and fisons, by the time all the work had turned to chapel bank fearons was john irvings and they stuck with tankers and containers, and theres another name squeak o,neil, irvings bought his tankers,
got nice photo of a thames trader of his with a old mmb body converted to carry steel drums 3 rows high standing,
and theres another name batemans, they used to sub whey powder out of the dairy, there was a daltons used to come to bothel for whey powder, they had commers with single axle trailers, but they were about 38 long for carrying aluminium, we could only put 10 ton on, and heres another one, ike teasdale, i was loading out a yard on the a5 just past daventry turning, and the boss man recognised my accent, and asked if i knew ike,“corse a deu,”, well he said he use to work a firm that was clearing their yard, and they had 3 old erfs and a shed of parts, ike came and took the lot, the guy was wondering if ike ever repaired the wagons,? yep i reckon so,
fearons used to run coke breeze and clinker from glass houghton to marchon, it was a daily slog for ■■■■■■■■■■ h & l , fearons, jr graham, he had a nice atki twin steer on that job, fearons had a couple of 86s and h & l had erfs some of them jazzers old ones and guys, a couple of them had rolls royce engines, they could fly on that job,(dont mention the dennis artics they had).
