D Browns aren’t ones I’ve seen, I know there’s the Silver trucks all wearing JMT number plates based on the road literally just out of Aspatria (Thought they were John Mitchell (sp?) Transport), and then D A Harrison in the next town along. The JMT Trucks do a lot of Sealy work though.

I deliver into Sealy beds for work so got to see the fleet quite a bit, I do have a pic of the old shunter but it was in the dark and off my phone so it ain’t brilliant…

Hello Price,
When I started driving in 1962 my first load was pulp wood from the Cockermouth district to Ellesmere Port on a Leyland Comet 90 and it became a regular run when not on livestock work. Jos Millicans wagons were there regularly as were the green Albions of G.F. Potter from Welshpool I think, do you remember them.? I frequently see an ex Millicans driver who is into vintage tractors these days.
Cheers, Leyland 600

Hello dew
Yes, JMT reg wagons do a lot of Sealy Work but not sure where they are based or owned by. D Brown’s wagons are useally white or silver with no writing on. They have (I think) 16 lorries at Brayton with most of the lorries been Renault Magnums or the old Iveco Eurotec’s (But I think they did have a 2007 Iveco Stralis in the silver livery) . The main Sealy lorries are owned by the Silentnight Group PLC, who own Sealy.
Next time I down West, I’ll try to get some photos of there wagons.
Kindest Regards

JMT wagons are D Browns then, Magnums and Silver Iveco’s, I must be getting a wire crossed somewhere (I’ve heard the name John Mitchell from a couple of security guards, and just put that with the JMT Reg’s, weither there’s been a name change I’m not sure. They are based about 3/4 of a mile out of Aspatria on the Wigton road, just past the Paintball centre.

the trucks running out of sealy with jmt on the plates belong to JOHN Mc NICHOL transport.

I guess that’s the one I’d heard as John Mitchell, Mainly silver trucks all with JMT Reg’s, I wonder if they’ve come in from D Brown as the fleet seems the same, but they all wear JMT Number plates. No sign writing at all.

It’s just triggered when you said old Iveco’s, because they do have an older 4x2 Unit and it caught my eye at the time, as you really don’t see many around these days.

Of this shape…

Hello dew,
Yes, they have two Ivecos like that, I know one is silver and I think the other is white. I also forgot to say in my earlier email that Brown’s also have some Mercedes Benz Actros’ tractor units, all in silver.

Dennis, Jimmy Dixon worked for S& H McCall for a time, late 60s I think. Cheers L600.

Dennis your comment reminds me of some bright young lads from that fine educational establishement in Wigton who were sitting behind me while driving a coach from Carlisle Tech College to the Throstles nest just a few years ago before retiring, it was a nice fine frosty day with good views over the Solway to Scotland, yan o them say " Oooh luk theers Ben, Nevis," (Criffel) his mate replies “Dont be bloody silly thats in Wales”. what can you say to that statement ■■?
Cheers Leyland 600
