WH Holmes turned into Safegard many years ago and then sold out to TDG. As far as I know the Safegard depots have not gone to Norbert.

None of these companies really interest me, most are probably scrappy little cowboy outfits, I need more Stobbies the true professionals.
Stobbies don’t interest me, here are a couple more from a proper haulage company

Hello Eddie Stobart Fan,
Ok, I agree about Stobart been professionals (since I’am a spotters), but I am interested in ■■■■■■■■ Companies since I was born and bred in the county, and 99.9% of these companies which you call ‘scrappy’ are actually very interesting companies and they where the companies which Stobart’s ‘aspired’ to be.
■■■■■■■■■ haulage world would have been a totally different place if the likes of Robson’s, Brady’s, Bewick’s, Wm Armstrong and all the other companies hadn’t been there. Edward Stobart RIP alwas said that Robson’s aspired him to become the ■■■■■■■■ Haulage legend that he is today
So, all I can say is, if you aren’t interested in ■■■■■■■■ Companies, S** off and visit the Eddie Stobart Spotter Thread, which I set up for spotters like me, ok?
Regards

No one never mentions one of the most legendary and top hauliers to come out of ■■■■■■■ C G Ashburner & Son - Millom. They had a very large fleet of Volvos and I believe that they travelled all over and to the Middle East, they even had vehicles based out there.
You are very definitely on the “wind up” aren’t you “george” !!! Dennis.

cthis 111 ended life with j c hope of gosforth when on route to stranrear for the boat .the driver at the time was cloin crikett who now fits for superdeck .colin had been stopped south of dumfries by the police asking him if he had seen anything of a stray cow ! colins reply was no so off he went and not to much further up the road he found the cow mm stuck to the front of the 111 shunting the cab back to far for economical repair .so was replaced at the time with the only thing that grahams at carlise could get hold of witch was a 112m wendy house twin steer .
Quite a nice fleet JC Hope of Gosforth, how many vehicles did they have at their peak and who else did they haul for apart from Donnans?[/quo steve here at the most they ran 5 units in the mid to late 90es a lot of the work was for donnan or who ever seamed to own the factory at hensingham be it donnan ,c fresh or euromac were some of the names it traded under.hopes also hauled for dawnfresh seafoods whitch origanally was on north shore whitehaven but after wanting to expand was helped out of the county by coupland council who would not give them permission to expand on ther site . so the owner Alistair Salveson moved the whole show up to bothwell lanarkshire along with the factory they had in marttelsham ipswich .hopes contnued to haul for them out of the new factory for a number of years whitch even included loads of prawns to italy .they also hauled lime and slag back to local farms for spreading in there agricultual contracting buisness .

Hello ■■■■■■■■ Gill
Trotters don’t have a 143 there was a couple of 113s but they have gone now. They have a 124 and an R470 which sometimes pulls a tipper and is based at calthwaite.
Thanks for the picture of the Scania before painting Hesket, here are the rest of my Trotter pictures.
