Hi “Robthedog” ,
If you start picking on The Waverton One ,…then you`ll have his henchman accusing you of bullying . :unamused:

My own guess , is that " T.W.O. " is now too occupied with his Good Lady , or hes now busy learning to drive . Either way ,............its a step forward on a lifetime of a new experience .

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

Is HOPE still on the go Paul. Eddie.

Hi Eddie and Paul, No Jim Hope died about 3 years ago but had ceased operations a few years prior to his death. Main man and great friend of Jim , Sandy Gordon (BIG S ) also died suddenly about 2 months ago, I attended his funeral at Carlisle Crematorium as did a great many others from the haulage and plant hire businesses from far and wide.
The Malcolm Walker ERF bulker is certainly a blast from the past, unfortunately Malcolm is no longer with us, he liked his ERFs. Thanks for posting Paul.
Cheers, Leyland 600.

Hiya L600, I was loading oranges at Sheerness docks on a flat trailer for KTS in 1982 or so, Sandy was loading in the same shed on Hope’s motor, he was a real big lad so he rolled… not walked towards me (not being cheeky as he was a good laugh and I liked him) pointed to top of his load of oranges, and said “Here son, you’re a young fit lad, climb up top of me oranges with them sheets will ya, I can’t get up there myself, and if you will I’ll treat ya lad”
Being young and fit, sheet on shoulder I got up and rolled them out for him.
Now in that shed there were oranges everywhere, on stand trailers, in boxes and loose all over the bloody floor as far as you could see there were nothing but …oranges.
Anyway I got of the trailer and “Sandy said thanks lad, I said I’d treat ya…Heres an orange for ya”

Didn’t he go on to own a coach?

Wouldn’t dream of using an insulated body for hauling sea defence boulders, would knock seven bells out of it in no time.

Both those guys have the steel bodies designed (or as best they can be) for that job. It’s bloody hard work for a tipper though as when the stones roll out they bounce the hell out of everything

Come on Dew,it’s called a “wind up” do you think I would allow Hodge to destroy his immaculate tipper bodies on a ■■■■■ job like that !! :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:  Cheers Bewick.
