Are you looking , “Strawgalore” ? You asked me for a photograph of our Dodge ( Country Lady
).
This would have collected livestock from your family`s farm back in the days when you were a younger lad .
Cheers , cattle wagon man.

Just found your site whilst looking for some J & W Watt photos, my old man drove for them in the seventies, doing international work out of Vivers of Dornock. He then went on to work for a company from Newark (with whom I started driving for at 21, and then on to Stobarts in 92/93)
Reading quite a few of the posts on here, it annoys me the amount of ■■■■ Stobarts drivers get, I’ve been there, and still do casual weekend driving for them, granted some of the idiots that do come on here saying how good Stobbies are ill informed, but there no different to driving for anyone else, you get in start up, select a gear, hand brake off, mirror, signal, manoeuvre and drive…
Keep up the good work, and if anyone has any J & W Watt photos, it would be appreciated.
I thought I`d better choose an older vehicle to display on here .
, and keep the peace .

Thanks for the good wishes for 2014 Roy, also the publicity. I have managed to get the walking stick into High Ratio but tend to get a lot of steering wander at higher speeds.
All the best to yourself for 2014.
Cheers Leyland 600.
Hi Nelly1972
Ronnie Balmer has sold his trucks but his son-in-law owns a couple of trucks under the name of B & S Haulage and I have been told that Ronnie still drives on a part time basis for them. regards prattman.

The problem is that once you have put them on the web they are public property and anybody can get them. I have
no problem with sharing my pictures with people who want to see them but I have learned the hard way not to put
any “special” pictures out there. I have found my pictures on foreign web sites, flickr, facebook, ebay and I have
seen them overwritten with somebody else’s copyright. I have even found them with my copyright written over
them on other people’s sites. I have three approaches to pictures I want to keep, either do not post them, save
them in a very low format before posting them so they are not worth copying or write my name all over them to
try and stop people selling them but one thing I know for sure is that there is no use complaining once you have
posted them anywhere because within hours thousands of people will have right clicked or copied them if they are
of any interest.
If you don,t want to share them, why bother takein them in the first place,
I have seen some of mine in magazines and books ,it does not bother me as i know its my picture as i have the original negative.
seen the one below a few times
Hi “Klunk/■■■■■■■■ ,
Im sure that I have a few more photographs of the
road runs traversing Great Asby Fell . Happy to oblige . Don
t tell me you used to drive the artics along that road to avoid the police checks on the Appleby to Tebay road ( B 6260 ).
In the meantime ,…heres a
old timerin the name of a Ford . Maybe someone on here can give some more details , please. Photographed on the A 66 near Keswick, at the start of a
road run` , a couple of years ago.
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
Does anyone know what happened to David Grierson of Penrith, who used to run a handful of artics?
