So Tom,I didn’t know that H&L had took J Bros over in the '60’s,so “Jazzer” must have started up again after H&L packed up eh! and then sold out to Onward again in the late 70’s ?,talk about “double bubble” !! Am I right in my thinking,or what ? Cheers Dennis.

If I remember rightly Dennis H.& L, got into some bother with the T/Cs, It was big headlines in the motor transport paper in the 60s ■■, Regards Larry.

All I can recall of H&L Larry was that the Workington end was started by the ex depot manager of BRS Howgate,Whitehaven,Lavery, I think his name was, and I remember them running some DENNIS Maxim units,bags of ■■■■,even if they were named after me ,one of their drivers on a DENNIS left H&L in 1969 and became the first driver employed by my old Marra, Harry Thompson RIP,on a new ERF 16ton 4 wheeler,which he ran out of Smith Bros Whitehaven.Cheers Dennis.
