Cumbria companies

The thread is “lorries companies and drivers”
The companies on here have mostly been around for a few years and still going. The old pictures are getting hard to come by but even the new ones can get people reminiscing about the old times so the thread keep’s going. To put them in the photo section would just lead to a lot of pictures with no banter and that would be boring so I vote to carry on.

To compare how commercial vehicles have changed in design from the 1920s, heres a photograph of a Scania
belonging to Longtown hauliers Wm. Armstrong.
Photographed at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

That cattle body must be demountable as I spotted this the other week with a flatbed body on and a flatbed drag trailer pulling hay!

George Bell from Orton ( Penrith ) , displayed this E.R.F. for a while , a few years ago.
Leyland 600 will no doubt be able to enlighten us all on this E.R.F., apart from the Gardner 120 badge on the front grille.

Photographed at the Kirkby Stephen & Brough Easter Weekend Rally.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.
