Culina Spalding

freshneasy:
fresh closed down

Well that didn’t last long did it i wonder what went wrong ?

Never really got off the ground never got any work and work they did get they lost! If there’s no work then no money is being made

:open_mouth:

Well I never.

Just shows even those that would seem to know what they are doing wearing the shirts & ties sometimes drop the ball too.

Would have been a mission and a half denting Turners & Fowler Welch to be honest.

I don’t need to dig very deep mate everybody has been laid and fresh closed down. I know 6 drivers start new jobs next week. They have pulled the plug on it. If you try to go on culina fresh website it just diverts you to the main website now

Yes, some driver just told me in tesco widnes this afternoon! :open_mouth: :unamused: :bulb:

Must be true then, the police probably drew a chalk line around the depot and closed off ajoining access right ■■?

It’s not gone bust, apparently it’s been incorporated into Culina Chilled but the depot is closing at Spalding .

well no Culina hasnt gone bust obviously but the Fresh division is no more but to be honest with you baldbloke theres hardly anything to incoporate as thats the whole reason it finished because they never got any work!

What a load ofB******** they didn’t last long only way they could get work was by slashing the rates but didn’t do the jobs when they got it, they have now gone from Spalding

I know what their intentions are, and yes they took some drivers from the likes Fowler Welch and Freshlinc i believe and will more than give these companies a run for their money, Culina are looking to get a lot bigger in the next couple of years.

I see this as a massive positive for the re-generation of driver employment prospects and decent salaries with all the companies looking to employ the best in the area which can only drive up wages, not too go off topic but thats as long as they dont employ too many of our EU friends.

Well I can tell you mate that the driver traIner who was at the open day said out of the 200 odd applications not one was from foreign shores. Maybe baldbloke could enlighten more but culina don’t seem to have many across the company from my experience. As an ex fowler welch driver the east European drivers there had it made it really in that they had there own interpreters in the office all paperwork was duplicated in respective languages etc so doubt many of them would want to give that up. Some of them there would good lads but the vast majority didn’t speak very good English and from my experience of culina so far I don’t think they would get these luxuries. The lads at fresh at the moment are all good lads who care about the job and look after there trucks and take pride in what they do so this is another reason why im enjoying my time so much more these days. Baldbloke if I’m down Bristol I will look out for you mate.

whats a load of b@@@@@ks?

Shame for the lads who went there expecting a better life / career.

:frowning:

Indeed, it was one of the companies coming to the area I was hoping would drag the local standard upwards, having done shifts at Gist and FLink they didn’t have a whole lot to do better.

Gist seriously need to invest in some new fleet, units and trailers but are nice enough bunch to drive for, FLink seem to have a mixed fleet with a few decent individuals in the office but by and large are a nightmare to work with, communication problems rife, guess that’s what happens when 90% of the staff are Eastern European tho :frowning:
