Crow Carrying

allthough crows were taker over by tdg.they still kept the name and logo until they were amalgamated with buckley tankers from warrington.crows started to apply for various contracts under buckley tankers name, but buckleys were almost unknown outside of merseyside thats when it went downhill, very fast.

I came across these on The Manchester Archives site so I thought that they may be of interest.
B.T.W. Geigy Chemicals had a place on Manchester Old Road, Rhodes, Middleton in the sixties next to The Wilton pub, Crows used to do some work for them back then.

Looking at their wagons all through the years I can never remember seeing a F7 day cab, by the time they started buying F7s & the like I think they had gone over to a all sleeper fleet hadn’t they?

I drove an F700 Mack around Europe for a year or so for Tyldsley Wilkinson on MAT work. It was a nightmare, no lock on it at all, heater was useless, seat bounced all over the place and ■■■■ burned my hand as the screen was so close to the steering wheel, you had a great big bed but needed to be an expert caver to get into it, but hey, it did stand out in the crowd and when she was wound up, now’t would catch it. The truck was all custom painted when we got it with flames all over the front. It had featured in some custom car magazine as the Allentown Cadillac. TW painted it black first before getting the white with blue stripes treatment. I think it ended up with some American 5 ring circus.
