Cretin.

I know it’s boring but, just had a flour tanker, rh rich try and undertake me on that roundabout at the start of the m50, both going right on to the m50 both of us exited from the m5, both max weight.

What a prick, just put my indicator on past the m5 south turn and had the lane, knob. Haven’t seen wagoning that bad for years.

Feel better now.

There’s plenty still out there!

Sorry mate, but both lanes go onto the M50, so he wasn’t doing anything wrong. There’s nowhere else to go from there, but there’s 2 lanes, what do you think there’s 2 lanes for??

Next you’ll complain about another professional ‘undertaking’ you on the M6(n) - A556 roundabout too :unamused:

I always used go round there in the left hand lane thats what its for, i dont see he,s done anything wrong tbh, he might well be of the opinion you where trying to race him round in the outside lane

Sounds like “bad wagoning” on your part to me… but we won’t know for sure until CSI TruckNet have concluded their investigation.

The left lane is handy to continue sb on the M5 if you have come out of the services :bulb:

Yeah, true.

All I can say though, is I don’t race around, so if I’m approaching that roundabout, it’s got 2 lanes, and on the roundabout it either joins the motorway I’ve just left, or it joins another 2 lane road to the right, I’d keep left and follow it round.
Anyone in the right lane has a few options, they can go quicker than me if they wish, or they can just keep to the outside, join lane 2 of the M50 and then pull in when they’re ready etc.

It’s only an issue when ego’s get involved, as in the OP’s post, whereas most drivers would just select whichever lane they want to use and stick with it, the left lane suits me because I just take things steady

How can you be sure the flour tanker was at “Max Weight”? Can’t see the problem to be honest unless he’s tried to run you off the road.

+1 - totally agree.

Heres one for CSI…

Youre on a single carriageway on the approach to a roundabout with exits at 9, 12, 3, and 6(the way you’ve come from).
20 yds before the give way line the road splits into 2 lanes.
The left exit continues as 2 lanes upto another roundabout. The straight on and right exits continue as 1 lane.

Which of the two lanes do you select on the approaching 20 yds to go straight on■■?

EDIT: There are no other road markings other than split white lines separating lanes and the give way lines.

When i come out of the services i use the left lane for m50 south all the way.

Pity when drivers who do the job for a living can’t give that professional courtesy that makes driving almost bearable, you expect lane forcing and carve ups from the numpties in cars and vans…but this never used to happen in lorries.

Funny thing is if one had given ground both lorries here could have taken the racing line on that junction straightening the curves out one following the other and both have a higher exit speed from the roundabout in question.
Two going round side by side means strict lane discipline and slower exit speed = no winners.

Severe lack of professional standards in the job now and almost zero courtesy.

Both :grimacing:

Sometimes shutting the back door is the best option. Roads like that should be clearly marked with the left lane being left only and the right lane straight on and right.

But, they’d rather spend money on speed bumps and other traffic calming measures.

Just wanted to see if anyone said right hand lane to turn left, like the silly ■■■■■■■■■ that carved me up the other week!!

-did you mean m5 or m50? Assuming you meant m5 with my response.

But it wouldn’t be an issue to you if someone going right onto the M50 was also in the left lane would it?

From what I remember this is correct, he was doing nothing wrong, just stay in your own lane and carry on.

Ahh, I could wax lyrical but it was a while ago know so meh…

If there is no lane marking on the roundabout to feed you off to the left then you would use the left hand lane where it splits into 2 at the give way line. The only time lane 2 would be acceptable to go straight across is if there is more than 1 exit lane, which you’ve stated there isn’t. The fact that the 9 o’clock exit has 2 lanes is neither here nor there. Read the Highway Code, it’s quite clear on how to manoeuvre around roundabouts.

Have a beer and relax

That’s exactly how I saw it, which is why I was so ■■■■■■ when I was almost taken out with my kids in the car.
