Credit where credit is due

We all hate rdc’s for obvious reasons, so I dreaded going into Farmers Foods in Bristol this morning. Arriving did not look promising, “park on bay and hand in keys”. Here we go I thought, sit on a crappy chair staring at a wall for an hour or so…

So imagine my surprise when I was greeted by a nice friendly lady with an English accent, who, after booking me in, directed me to the canteen. A clean, big canteen. Where breakfast was being served by cheerfull staff. A choice of greasy Full English, cereals, fruit. Clean toilets… free wifi…
let’s hope some ■■■■ is not going to ■■■■ it up by leaving the toilets in a mess…

Shame you can’t get the same experience at Warrington

It’s free tea and coffee too,and the meals are subsidised too, great place the one in Solihull is the same.

Nice to hear of a co treating us like we should be treat.

We go in there everyday it’s great
You can get a proper cooked meal for around 3 quid, then into tescos next door and grab yourself a shower.
Happy days!!

That sounds bang ,its nice going to a place where they are happy to see you and treat you like a human being,it makes your day :sunglasses: lets hope the numptys dont start nicking the knifes and forks and take the ■■■■ out of their niceness,i place i go used to let you use their brand new spotless showers, then some prick nicked the shower head and soap tray then it all stopped :smiling_imp: :unamused:

Sounds good, well done to them, I fancy a full English now:)

They have a TV on the wall with all the bay no’s on it.It flashes up when your paperwork is ready and you just go back down the stairs and collect it with your keys and off you trot.
All the other RDC’s should take a leaf out of their book IMO.

Good stuff.that’s brekkie sorted then as I’m in there tomorrow after P&H Avonmouth.

I feel your pain

Very refreshing to see a firm make decent effort to make drivers comfortable.

Given how long most places expect us to sit about, the ‘facilities’ at some places take the ■■■■. Place I was in last week had about 30 drivers waiting in a room with 10 chairs, I used the central locking fob I keep on me to go hide on the bunk until I had a green light (plus an hour for it to go red in the first place). Like ■■■■ am I leaning against a wall for hours on end :unamused:

I got put on cage collection the other day (tesco). Walked to the wagon (company I’m contracted in from have 2 rigids there), opened up the back as a part of my walkaround, full of cages. Went to the office, got a bay number. Stuck it on and waited.

Walked back out to see how things were getting on, green light! Got the keys, pulled off the bay. STILL FULL.

Complained until it got done. :L Moan arsey drivers get what they want.

That farmfoods is probably one of the best places I’ve ever tipped at. Food is great too, and very cheap

I just don’t understand how a company can let you sit there so long. At my place, its 15 minutes waiting then the phone calls begin. Normally the threats to pull the truck out has the desired effect, but if after a further 30 minutes waiting nothing has happened, we’re pulled out and on our merry way. Double bubble to us as our mob will charge again for redelivery.

In the past, our mob would only deliver to a certain giant online retailers RDC if the customer was willing to pay for a dedicated truck. Needless to say they wouldn’t pay for the privilege so they now use other Hauliers who seem more than willing to let their trucks sit around all day at one delivery point, probably not making much money out of it.
