Today I was coming up the m5 quite poor driving conditions lots of stop start then we got going again and I noticed an artic behind me very close.I was behind an artic in front so I decided to move over to the nearside lane and let him behind go,straight away he was next to me and closed up on the one in front again really close.By the time we got to where it meets the m6 I went past him again and thought how much does he value is life

Know what you mean, they are just brainless idiots, don’t worry about them though.
Trucks that close are dangerous for many reasons. These nobs who say mind your business make me laugh, I move over for these ■■■■ heads to but why should we? Sums up the intelligence of a lot of truckers. Doesn’t surprise me coming from JD though he’s a class act when it comes to the industry standard.
I reckon points for dangerous driving should be awarded to such pricks.
There are more idiots driving trucks than reside in the loony bin, glad I’m out of the game now. Some off the posters on here need to learn some common sense.
I no I think there crazy and yes I move over because it’s my own truck and two things I don’t want is time of work having it repaired and secondly walking round the back of it to see bits of a driver all over it.The best of it is i no the firm he works for unless he’s agency and he’s on about 8 pound an hour .
I just don’t get this forum
This is a forum for truckers … Isn’t it ?
Op has a valid point tailgating = dangerous … fellow truckers comments are,
AND ,MIND YOUR OWN BUISINESS ,DRIVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE NOT OTHER PEOPLE’S
Well if you guys think that’s acceptable driving behaviour and nothing worth moaning about I hope to god I’m never sandwiched between you lot in my truck or family car in any kind of traffic .
The standard of driving from fellow so called truckers nowadays is terrible there’s a RIP DRIVER post every week on this forum wonder if any of them guys were sandwiched between 2 trucks

Totally agree !
ALC is right to complain, there are some morons out there with truck licences.
This week i’ve had an artic tipper come round the inside of me (outside of roundabout) when turning from the A34 south onto the A420, i had to stop dead to let him go as that roundabout simply isn’t wide enough for two artics, he was undertaking me by the way.
The following day turning right from the A1M north onto the M18 i had to take to the hard shoulder cos empty caravan transporter was suddenly desperate to get by just as the slip road ended and there was (amazing i know) another truck already on the inside lane of the M18 who had to take evasive action too, caravan carrier had already jumped the red lights at the roundabout, i know that cos they changed to amber when i was half way across and he was at least a hundred yards behind me.
Far too many times idiots just sail off into the sunset because others have made allowances for them.
Numbskulls, thats what happens when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
Yes there are a few idiots out there with heavy goods licences but why come on and complain about it ffs, I only got carved up yesterday but I didn’t moan about it on here as unfortunately it’s something that does happen nowadays with a lot of drivers seemingly in a hurry.

The problem is that a hundred car drivers can behave like twerps and its expected and because of the size of the vehicle goes almost unnoticed, but when an alleged truck driver does the same it sticks out like a sore thumb, not only do we see it but if we have to take evasive action it compounds the whole thing in the eyes of the general public.
For goodness sake we’ve been in the wilderness of antipathy indeed dislike by the public for all of my lorry driving years, great strides have been taken to make trucks pretty, less aggressive looking and safer overall.
The numbskulls out there spoil the whole picture.
In an ideal world the numbskulls would travel on their own on empty roads and Darwins theory would eventually rule and the roads would be better for it.
In practice on our overcrowded roads in our increasingly overpopulated island, they go round leaving a wake of resentment, bewilderment and sometimes destruction.
If it wasn’t for discussions then this forum by definition wouldn’t exist at all.
double post

What is the point of a truckers forum if you’re not gonna talk about trucks and how they’re driven? Why do driver post diaries we’ve all driven a lorry…
There isn’t a few idiots driving trucks there is a lot of idiots driving trucks.
Maybe if you’d said it was a stobart wagon you’d have got more sympathy…
