Trucks that close are dangerous for many reasons. These nobs who say mind your business make me laugh, I move over for these ■■■■ heads to but why should we? Sums up the intelligence of a lot of truckers. Doesn’t surprise me coming from JD though he’s a class act when it comes to the industry standard.
I reckon points for dangerous driving should be awarded to such pricks.
bald bloke:
Yes there are a few idiots out there with heavy goods licences but why come on and complain about it ffs, I only got carved up yesterday but I didn’t moan about it on here as unfortunately it’s something that does happen nowadays with a lot of drivers seemingly in a hurry.
What is the point of a truckers forum if you’re not gonna talk about trucks and how they’re driven? Why do driver post diaries we’ve all driven a lorry…
There isn’t a few idiots driving trucks there is a lot of idiots driving trucks.
I was just giving you my opinion that’s what a forum’s for.
Like what many others have said there’s bucket loads of idiots, I’ve had an interesting week in the bendy club, the best tactic I’ve found is to run 2 clicks below the limiter and when it gets a bit claustrophobic hit the ‘P’ button (or drop 1/2 a cog) and get out of there sharpish.
these tailgaiters are the blokes yet to have an accident in an artic
they have become over confident
but just as night follows day
BANG , it will happen
sooner or later
overdrive:
I just don’t get this forum
This is a forum for truckers … Isn’t it ?
Op has a valid point tailgating = dangerous … fellow truckers comments are,
AND ,MIND YOUR OWN BUISINESS ,DRIVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE NOT OTHER PEOPLE’S
Well if you guys think that’s acceptable driving behaviour and nothing worth moaning about I hope to god I’m never sandwiched between you lot in my truck or family car in any kind of traffic .
The standard of driving from fellow so called truckers nowadays is terrible there’s a RIP DRIVER post every week on this forum wonder if any of them guys were sandwiched between 2 trucks
Nobody has said its acceptable. Just that this and many other bad habits can be seen every single second of the day. No good moaning about it
And I take it you still have no sympathy for said drivers? are you for or againts tailgaters JD, make ya mind up!
To be fair I don’t tailgate but if somebody is behind me there isn’t a right lot I can about it. I can only do my best going forwards what those are doing behind dosent right bother me.
I wouldn’t whine and moan about it though cos it will just stress me out even more than I am normally.

Shut up you coward.
Sticks and stones…or is it sheets of glass that hurt you?
if we all tolerate it then the morons win, the forum is a uk professional drivers one yet as professionals most just turn a blind eye: dangerous driving, drink driving, drug driving let someone else deal with it its not my problem etc etc.
i would report to the firm at the least and have even gone so far as to ring the police once when a ‘gaffers’ truck ran me off the road on the A1 luckily the police got him before i did!
I don’t understand tailgating simply because there seems no point to it. If you leave a two or three second gap in between your truck and the truck in front, you may possibly arrive at your destination two or three seconds later, though even that is unlikely as you will almost certainly join the same queue that you would have when you exit the road you are on.
In the meantime, you are just making life harder for yourself as well as more dangerous and are just looking at the rear or a trailer when you could be looking at the scenery.
