I’m local to this crossing, the crossing has a 5mph limit on it cos it [zb] rough as hell. This is from last year, and it’s not my filming.
I’ll go over it tomorrow and film it?
Now thats more like it Phil, a video showing the crossing in its almost constant state…closed with flashing lights. When did the 5mph limit come in? Its always been bumpy as hell from memory but don’t remember anything other than whatever the speed limit is for the area, 30 or 40etc.
Late for a boat ?

Iirc, the limit was there on the 2nd of Jan when I crossed it, but that was over 2wks ago now, so I don’t know I’d there still there.

That explains it then. I haven’t driven over it in years now but I’m originally from New Holland so would often go over it on my way to Immingham Dock in the morning or back home at night again. 9 times out of 10 it’d be closed for a train though so no chance for dodgy over taking maneuvers, no matter how much of a rush I was in! lol

It’s a lot quieter these days, drop in coal traffic is a major factor.
Went across it today, and it still has the 5mph limit signs up on it. I also filmed it especially for all the nob jockeys on here to see, if they want see it, I’ll put it up on youtube for them.
Well, it’s on the BBC news website now so that’s another reason for Joe Public to regard us as morons.
A narrow view of the road doesn’t tell the whole story, admittedly but I think this manoeveure was at best unwise.
So next time we can’t drag ourselves out into busy traffic from a side road and have to wait for a fellow trucker to come along and give us a break, we’ll understand why.

perfect vid from the opposite angle with final proof that the van driver was a fanny trying to mess with truckie boy.overtaking there you can see theres nothing to worry about until mabey some Herbert coming out the pub without looking…final score…truckie 1,fannyvanman nil
Overtaking on a level (or pedestrian) crossing is illegal, end of, no matter what the circumstances. No excuses, if a driver can’t wait just a few seconds to at least clear the crossing before passing even a cyclist then it’s a poor do. If most folk were suddenly, and unexpectedly, overtaken on a crossing by a truck they would probably clap their brakes on as well, a natural reaction.
Pete.

check out the two cyclists behaving themselves, not something seen every day!
