Local radio reports the aftermath was like a war zone.
Always very very sad when there a fatalies with children involved, especially burnt.
Maybe i feel it more than some, always wanted children from when i was around 30, now at almost 50 and still no wife 
They also said that the emergency service crews who responded will require counciling.

He has no point. He has ‘assumed’ i’m taking fotos whilst driving. He’s wrong. A look through Big Jases past posts though will reveal he likes to argue, call people names and generally fly off the wrong end of the stick. Then complains that the public should have more patience for him , ironic hey?!!

I hope they throw the book at the spanish driver responsible for this tragic incident, not my place to speculate but probably had a dvd playing on his laptop.

there seems to be a serious accident on that streatch of road weekly. is it becuase its a unlit section of road and do you think street lighting would help on motorways with it involving such high speeds

Well i have to be totally honest here, yes my saftey was compromised. When i was stopped in the layby on the A500 as i put my arm out to photograph the lorry in the opposite layby a passing truck nearly took my arm off. I’ll have to be more carefull. Also after i had the lappy on whilst stationary for almost two hours on the M6 i was in danger of flattening the battery and being stuck in lane one.

Now seems there were 6 people killed.
I was diverted off the m6 at j15 this morning at 5am, i put the news on and heard why. very sad incident and condolences goes out to all involved including emegency services who have to deal with he clearing up.
Unless you where a witness to this accident I think its wrong to speculate what happened. Also, I enjoy reading Mike 's diaries and can see nothing wrong with taking photographs while parked up. Again, people speculate and accuse without knowig the facts. As for looking at the laptop parked up in a jam on the motorway, Im sure we have all been sat for at some point without moving for hours in a jam and if the engine isnt running and you havent moved or there are no signs of moving, whats wrong with that?

about 3-5 years ago stuck 4 and a half hours
on the motorway in luxemburg oppisite the cocacola factory

Mike, thanks for stating the obvious that the rev counter was at red ( I noticed the N for Neutral too) and thanks Greek and Andy also.
I do actually have a point Mike and Im not assuming. The first photo of the well advertised Scania, looked as if it was taken remarkably close to the central barrier to be taken from a layby.
Second, the Dartford crossing pics also look like you are moving, either that or you were in lane 1 with a flat battery!!!.
And then of course the second pic, you must have pushed it into lane 2 to see if you could bump it. I notice the angle of the pic is taken to suggest that you were in the right hand seat, and since I know its an Actros and it isnt a left ■■■■■■ I can tell you were in fact driving. Adding to that, you have a blind spot view bender type jobby which again says it is a right hand drive. The Focus in lane 3 with its brake lights on, although he could be sat there with his foot on the brake, suggests you are all slowing down or are at a crawl, I also notice a good stopping distance to also suggest you are moving where as the picture with your laptop, your very close to the car you can just see in front of you which suggests you are stationary.
Lastly, the 4th pic suggests again that you have broken down in lane 2 with the said flat battery.
You are the complete type of menace on the roads who cause accidents due to hitting stationary vehicles in lanes or recovery vehicles or HATO’s on the shelf. I may be argumentative because i fell incredably strongly about the points i put across and what i believe in. I have seen so much death and destruction in my life and have spoken to the families who have lost loved ones due to bad driving for all the reasons.
There are many many good drivers out there and my hats off to all of you that give us room and drive with care and may you continue to do a superb job of keeping the country moving. thanks to all the truckers who do move, you know who you are and i always wave to say thanks.
I can only hope the ones who take pics, vids and talk on the phones gets whats coming to you.

I would have to agree with Big Jase.Taking photos on the move if that is the case is distraction. Distraction is now the biggest killer on the roads.
Driving while distracted is a very serious offence. If you ksi someone while distracted then jail will be the order of the day.
My condolences to the families of those wiped out.

Listened to reports of this on the news all last night.
Had some Chesire police bod reporting aswell…
The car that was hit had basically been sandwiched when it was hit from the rear by a lorry and then burst into flames .
Follow on reports throught the night described the scene as carnage and no idea when M-Way would re-open.
I know one thing … I was glad I was no-where near it .
Personal view :
No excuse for ploughing into stationary or slow moving traffic.

It is not a topic about wether or not another driver was taking photo’s whilst driving , please keep it on topic ,otherwise I will have to remove the topic so that I can take out the post’s that are not relevant.
