Crappest Road ? any of the motorways around Birmingham, seems they are incapable of building a road thats not got bumps in it 
Most Boring? M1
The M40 is the most boring motorway of all, it seems to cut through the middle of nowhere, so flamin crap. M5 past Birmingham is boring too. M6 North of blackpool all the way to scotland between the hours of 2am-6am as you seem to be the only one on the road (especially Sunday mornings). The A14 gets longer each time you go on it. The M25 is just ■■■■ all the time and the A1.
I’ll drive on any road so long as I’m getting paid for it

Hiya…i know the M40 is a boring road,you should go back 30 years and try going M38 /bull ring out of brum
through shirley down to warwick/banbury to kiddlington to the pear tree round about off down the A34(40mph)
into winchester down a bit of twintrack into southampton tip a couple of JCBs and home in the Day with a 180
atki or ERF. you,d soon like going down that boring M40/A34, its not a winge but how times have changed.
I had mates who would do 5 trips a week, glutton for punish ment.I,d try to get a load of timber of the dock
for home and have a night out in banbury,

20 odd years ago a chap promised to jump off a bridge at gate 7 (he chickened out)the tail back was to crawley services.
there must have been 1000 truckers would have pushed him willingley.

Yes, i’ll go with that as well, it’s one of those roads that is never bloody ending. It tricks you into thinking that you’re further down than you actually are
I’ll chuck the A11, Barton Mills to Elveden stretch, into the mix.
Also, A47 Acle Straight.

Any road if you do it often enough!!! Apart from Macon to Mt Blanc…Stunning and never boring…

My 13m trailer got (suspect?) rear-ended by a motorbike on that last November. He bottled an overtake at a junction - so it’s livened the road up for me although the A40 through to the A429 remains ditchwater dull even if a C-17, Tristar or VC10 is doing circuits.

I’ve noticed that it’s becoming fashionable to fall off the end of the Witney Bypass (Eynsham end) and end up parked on the wooden fence on the left; There must’ve been 3 in the last 2 months or so. if you think A40’s bad enough, spare a thought for my old chap. Does Ducklington-Blackthorn (Bicester premix plant) 5 days a week up and down A40-A34 or another driver’s done Ducklington-Kidlington (Cemex) 5 days a week for 20 years…

Yep, both of these qualify for first division crappiest/boring but deadly roads… Thankfully both relatively short!
m180 either way is mind numbingly boring aswell as the a52 from leek to ashbourne is also boring to be on but it does make interesting driving coming up froggall bank loaded

Do you mean the A523 (according to my Autoroute 2007) which goes through Waterhouses? I use it to go from Nottingham to Manchester and quite like it, what with the old canal and the route being quite varied, up and down and windy (that’s bendy not blowy), a bit of altitude etc., though I suppose any road can be tedious if you repeatedly use it, but I don’t do it every week. Motorways are supposed to be… uneventful, so unless one is continually nodding off with ennui they’re likely to be amongst the most incident-free hence boringly safe. In the UK we can’t compare with the Nullarbor or the great plains of North America for mile upon mile of mind-numbingness and I guess Norfolk doesn’t come close.
A reprieve from being my ‘…crappest…’ is on the estate to/from our yard: It can’t really qualify because it has a loose & very noisy manhole cover to aim for. (It’s been repaired once but I reckon we’ll get it trashed again by Easter).
Sorry to the tramper/camper lads who choose to live by it - and sorry to be otherwise positive: It won’t happen again.
