Crappest and most boring roads in the UK?

Just reading a post further down and saw that everyone was saying how much the hated the A17, which got me thinking. What are the roads you hate using?

I’ll nominate

The A10 running up to Kings Lynn. A horrible, horrible road, half of it’s subsided, the openess in parts means the wind can be a factor, with that canal right next to it waiting to swallow up anyone who makes the slightest mistake

and the M11, just for being so mind numbingly boring, and having sod all on it

M50 boring as ■■■■!!

M4 from around the Reading area to the west.

The entire length of the M4 just seems mind-numbing!

A9 from Perth to Thurso/Wick

A420 between Poxford and Swindon has got to be the crappiest, only about 30 miles but seems longer.
Most boring, from St Omer peage to Calais when all you want to do is get home.

M4 magor to cardiff, its flippin 50 mph limit but most cars don’t like going over 45 does my head in grrrrrr.

Tricky - the odd two lane bits are unutterably crap but seldom truly boring - take a crap design of road and add the natives’ entertaining habit of driving along the slip roads at 37 emm pee aitch and then, at the last possible moment - hitting the brakes before joining the carriageway - and there is some entertainment to be had.

How about the A68 from Darlington to Edinburgh - during the tourist season?

If I’m going southeast and end up going a1,a14, m11 now that really is mind numbing! Or Durham (or further) 3hours on the A1 just isn’t funny.

I think it’s partly cos I’m on nights; there’s even less to see.

Oh, and A350 down to blandford forum, suppose it’s good if you like your rse trying to eat the seat.

26 years ago I done that road in south Australia, forgotten its name but its famous for being 75 miles dead straight.

Does it happen to be called the Nullabor Plain?

Ive just posted a video in another thread called …The Best truck videos, that has that road in it

M5.

I would prefer to boil my testicles in hot oil, than have to travel the full length of it.

Thankfully as I don’t travel that often, my testicles are safe.

Ken.

couldn’t agree more, that section of the a10, scares me at times, along by the canal, with a heavy box on, ooo, i’ve grabbed the wheel tight a few times along there, feels like any minute, the roads gonna drag you into the trees, bushes etc.
and the m4, through the night, i’m leaving essex at 1, for a 6am merthyr, think the foo fighters will be played loud in the cab

I dont mind the A14, the huntingdon to Cambridge stretch certainly keeps you busy anyway. There’s way too many accidents on here though, you can lose hours in a week in traffic jams

Yeah, i’ve got a few blisters on my hands from holding on for dear life going up that A10

A55 Chester to Holyhead use this road every day,in the summer it’s a nightmare caravans galore and solid traffic was even worse when they had roadworks at St Asaph they have gone though now.

A1 Leeds to Scotch Corner bores me death too.

A5 Oswestry, all the way to the A55. Hate the slow pace.
A303 Honiton -Stonehenge. Can’t stand this road.

A5 and even though it’s short the m69
