Crappest and most boring roads in the UK?

cons77:
A55 Chester to Holyhead

That’s one of my favorites!

cons77:
use this road every day

Ahh, guess that’s why then! Only travelled it a handful of times, but loved running along the coast in the sunshine.

My crappest is the road to work. Ironically though I come home from work on the very same stretch, but the eastbound home route is actually my favorite!

The entire length of the M3 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

A21 from the M25 all the way down to Hastings.

Not in the Uk, but the A67 section from Aguilar de Campoo to Palencia.

A34, Chieveley to Oxford. No overtaking lane for a mile right when you’ve caught up with army lorries and tractors crawling up the Ilsley hills, cyclists (!) between Kidlington and M40, and the fact you never know when you’re going to come to a standstill.
A40 Witney-Oxford. Enough said.

26 years ago I done that road in south Australia, forgotten its name but its famous for being 75 miles dead straight.

Does it happen to be called the Nullabor Plain?

Ive just posted a video in another thread called …The Best truck videos, that has that road in it

It’s the Eyre Highway, but it goes across the Nullabor.

If I’m going southeast and end up going a1,a14, m11 now that really is mind numbing!

I can second that as that’s the route i take from Peterborough to head for Croydon. Do you know of any other routes to take? i some times take the A1 to M25 but that’s miles out lol

i hate the M50 as its so mind numbingly boring, and A10 by the canal is another i hate, oh and then theres the A34 from M3 all the way up to abingdon

The A17 north from Spalding… boring but deadly!

Mine too, love driving that road at any time of the year.

M4 from Slough to Bristol and M11 from M25 interchange to north

It’s either the M50 or the A303 from Andover down to Yeovil, both mind numbing for me :frowning:

M25

nuff said :unamused:

who told you about it??

A69 after Hexham where it turns to single carriage way, it just takes ONE truck (or even CAR) to do 38mph-ish and it adds hours to a journey! :imp:

Same goes for the A1 north of Morpeth (Mainly northbound) especially bank holidays, where it splits for the A697. Some days I’ve seen it stop for no reason. :imp: :imp: :imp:

M5.

I would prefer to boil my testicles in hot oil, than have to travel the full length of it.

Thankfully as I don’t travel that often, my testicles are safe.

Ken.

Yep.

I’m based up North and fairly regularly deliver down to Bristol. Going down isn’t so bad, but coming back on the homeward stretch is horrendously dull - I find myself willing on the M6 and it just never comes. Then to top it all off getting from J1 - M6 is always a ball ache with traffic.

Thankfully never yet had to do the full length.

the a75. caught for speeding once or twice on this road. plus i have to travel to and from work on it, and if i go anywhere at the weekend. its pish.

M8 Glasgow - Edinburgh.
On a bad day x3, yuk…
