Covid job mandatory for health staff... whos next?

because we don’t care about your theories on either side for the reasons I’ve pointed out.

Thing is they ain’t my theories but sure I’ll stop banging on about it. No problem. Keep spreading it about.

Might be a suitable question for the Feedback Forum?

As it happens, I seem to remember reading a post from EB and thinking it was…uummm…“counter factual”…

Tbf I wasn’t addressing that to just you directly, I was speaking generally, but I can see why you thought I was seeing as I quoted your post.

As for me ‘spreading it about’, that was one of my points, if those who have chosen not to have the jab for whatever reason that may be, ain’t bothered,…well I’m bothered a lot less.

I think Rob’s referring to a post on Bullys on the same subject…but he’ll never know as he has me on block.
(Aye like hell  )
Please don’t quote this for him to ‘see’, as he’ll be dying to respond, but knows if he does it will tell the tale.

I don’t agree with your opinion…

Some choose not to have the jab.
Some cannot have the jab. I dont know the current rules, (and *anyone concerned should read the NHS site*, not read posts here) but those already having treatments that compromise their immune systems (cancer patients etc) those who have allergies, and maybe others. Those persons are more at risk from the virus than you or I, but dont have the option to immunise themselves.

Ed. And youre right that I was thinking of a post in Bullys. My error.

Fair enough, I understand and I have to say I was not directing “spreading it about” to you directly either.
I think everyone is fed up with all these restrictions but we all have our own opinions about it all.
Thankfully from what I hear deaths are greatly reduced now in UK (thanks to the vaccines) even although infections are rising sharply but still too many being hospitalised.(younger generally than before)
Franglais make some good points about who and who cannot be jabbed.
Lets hope things improve soonest.

I get that and I do sympathise with that category of people.
However,.speaking for myself if I was in that condition, and feared catching ANYTHING that would worsen my condition, I would maybe take zero risk, isolate and and not go out…ie look after MYSELF.
I would not exoect others to take that responsibility for me.
I would also have the option of saying ‘’ ■■■■ this, I ain’t got a lot to lose so I’m gonna make the best of the time I’ve got, live life as normal as I can.and take my chances’.
Knowing the way I am I would be going for the latter option.

The day that you agree with my thoughts would be a very bad day indeed.

Thinking about it, I stood too close to a bramble on the golf course today and got a prick. Suppose it’s a bit like the bus, none for ages and then…

I liked Franglais’ momo charts earlier. If you pull enough levers and twist enough knobs it shows that the ‘excess deaths’ in 2020 was around 35k with 20k of them being over 84yo. Who may have been susceptible to a particularly aggressive flu virus anyway. So, the entire country was shut, the economy trashed, dignities stolen, alternative viewpoints outlawed, people vilified for 15k extra-ordinary deaths. (suicide and untreated illnesses could of account for that figure too)
It’s amazing what you can do with stats during hysterical times.

Probably so…

Assume that we have two variables a and b, and that: a = b

Multiply both sides by a to get: a2 = ab

Subtract b2 from both sides to get: a2 - b2 = ab - b2

This is the tricky part: Factor the left side (using FOIL from algebra) to get (a + b)(a - b) and factor out b from the right side to get b(a - b). If you’re not sure how FOIL or factoring works, don’t worry—you can check that this all works by multiplying everything out to see that it matches. The end result is that our equation has become: (a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b)

Since (a - b) appears on both sides, we can cancel it to get: a + b = b

Since a = b (that’s the assumption we started with), we can substitute b in for a to get: b + b = b

Combining the two terms on the left gives us: 2b = b

Since b appears on both sides, we can divide through by b to get: 2 = 1

Pulling levers and twisting knobs will distort any attempt to try to picture reality.
A bit like saying one can take a true statement and twist the words to mean something else.

Franglais mate, seriously.

I think you’ve got FAR TOO MUCH spare time on your hands mate.
Try taking your mask off and going out socialising with a few friends. :bulb:

trouble is you cant divide by zero

cooper1203:

Exactly so.
.
The point I was making is that twisting things around means you can “prove” anything. But what you have “proved” bears no resemblance to reality.
We can look at data, or use words, to try to understand and describe the world as it is.
Or
We can choose what we want* to see, and then twist data or words to “prove” it.

  • sometimes it is deliberate, sometimes we see what hope to see, sometimes what we expect to see.

trouble is people in general are too lazy to apply common sense and dont want to see things when it is staring them in the face. they just like to listen to the faceache theorys and the idiot media
