Good evening
This is my first post, new to this forum
During this current Covid 19 situation, I am very intrested to see what in cab cleaning/ppe equipment companies are supplying drivers.
Our company based in Telford have issued us with hand sanatiser.
Anything above that we have to purchase ourselfs.
You want to keep it clean or keep yourself protected you have to buy it yourself.

No surprises there.
Not much is required really, but it’s a bit much having to provide it yourself if youre an employee. Typical of the way drivers are treated like ■■■■ though I’m afraid…

Hi i work for my local council and we’re supplied with antibacterial spray, cloths and hand sanitizer .think it’s bad you having to buy your own. cheers ray
Got a tiny bottle of hand sanitizer way back filled from a bigger bottle they got cheap from a company we ship chemicals for. Prob cost them a fiver. Not even got alchohol gel pumps on site at our depot (although some have).
Oh and after 6 months, we got a single use face mask but had to sign to say we’d got it and reuse it mostly for fuel, although mostly use auto ones if I can.
Beyond that, sweet fa. Bought alchohol wipes myself early on but rarely bother using now. Especially at the price they were going for. Still not met anyone whos had it or knows anyone who has.
Disposable gloves, disposable face masks, gel & Alcohol wipes have always been available to me, now they’ve put packs of wipes in the cab. I use some modified baby wipes that have both Flash apc and 100% rubbing alcohol added in the pack. The flash is intended to clean the grime off and the alcohol is for the C-19
Anything we wanted was supplied.
At the start we all went mad and ordered Actibacterial spray by the 5 lt drum. Antibacterial wipes, mask, gloves, goggles etc etc just to wipe the cab down.
Now we know its nothing more than Flu we dont bother anymore.
Over here, STEF provide us with:-
wipes, little bottles of gel for our hands, a sanitising spray for the material parts of the cab, packs of 50 face masks,
most depots have a team to disinfect cabs that are shared, on their return from each trip.

.
a company isn’t required by law to provide you any cleaning products whatsoever then??
Annoys me the fact that we worked all the way through this Covid epedmic and there seems to be no flexibility on the company’s part

^^^^^ This
Full NBC suit with wipes sanitizer.
Ever stop we make or everytime we open a window we stop and the covid quick response team come down in a twinkly sprinter van and fumigate the cab with a spray.
Decontamination chambers on way into worl and way out. New set of clothes every time for next days
work.
Rinse repeat.
When you say quick response, are we talking 10mins,20mins or half a hour, don’t think the latter would qualify as quick response.
Imagine driving in a nbc suit would cause some health and safety issues, and no doubt look like I was on my way to a gimping party
Lol

.
I had it mate. Was ill in bed for 2 days. Didnt need to visit a funeral director nor did I feel the need to visit the hospital. It was very much like having flu.

Well good for you.
Seriously, I’m glad that it wasn’t worse for you. Not so for everybody of course.
Maybe if you’re lucky again, any virus you collect won’t affect you.
Maybe if we’re ALL lucky no one will puck up any virus you can spread around with any possible immunity you have.
But, someone’s luck will run out sooner or later, and the more people doing the spreading the more there will be.
Some of the motors I have driven I have needed a full germ war fare kit long before covid.
Im just hoping i get cancer before this covid. It sound terrifying.
Wet wipes which smell awful and clean nothing. I sometimes use them to ‘try’ clean my mirrors.

You’re more likely to get ‘treatment’ for covid than for cancer nowadays and in the foreseeable future even though the former can’t actually be ‘cured’
All we have is there was a box of disposable masks .
On the desk. But that was emptied last week.
So now there’s nothing.
Guess Im lucky drive same truck everyday.
Park up of an evening if im.not having a night out take keys home.
And no one goes in it unless I’m on leave.
So have got 2 washable masks In there. And usually cab cleaning stuff really
Do feel.for those who drive a different truck everyday.
Wipes are literally pennies in Aldi, they even do nice smelling sprays in bottles and cans, again all for pennies.
Get the stuff yourself if you’re not happy with what you get.

HI trevHCS,
Although we’ve not met, I can tell you that I have lost a good friend to COVID, he died of it.
