I went for a job at Rugby forwarding, as Mick Price is a really good mate of my dads, when i worked out i be working twice as hard and be away a lot more than i already was for the same money i turned it down.
My dad also worked for Bernard Grainger. My dads name is Hughie Hill don’t know if you know him at all, he worked for Bernard about 1983ish.

Ok Foden, you would turn right, go in to Baginton , turn left in the village, fork right by the airport and follow it through Stonleigh village, where you turned left towards the Chesford Grange, if you had Spitfires on the top you could go straight on under the low bridge, but if you had TR6’s on you had to go right toward Kenilworth then left through Leek Wooton and join the Warwick bypass, as the Kenilworth bit wasn’t finished, before the Warwick bypass, instead of going to Stoneleigh you would go left after the split at the airport, at the bottom of the hill, you would go left over Cloud Bridge and down to the Ryton to Leamington road (Rugby Road), then straight through Leamington and Warwick, Stratford, Evesham, Tewkesbury, then on to SW or Wales.

Thanks for the info John, I always like that throaty sound from the Badgers, can you remember the reg of the Lynx you had, I was there when we had them new!
Keitheric29, I remember that Fiat of Browns, when I was learning for my HGV, Mousley use to put us on pulling tractors out of Banner La, running them down to Livingstone Allpak just behind Watford Gap, police would let you go through the emergency exit in those days, and a 40 ’ single axle, with the axle right on the back.
I was on for a firm in Ayr and we carried Massey Combine Harvesters from Kilmarnock and occasionally we went to ALLPACK and allways went in and out from the services. Eddie.
