Seems a few supermarket chains are already limiting certain products as a preventative measure to stop people being allowed to go nuts. Good. If it takes draconian measures to stop people from losing their grip then so be it.

Would you prefer censorship?
That would give the rumour mongers scope to wind up “Karen off Facebook” even more. Clearly some are acting silly again without any news reporting, but this news story does carry statements from the stores that there is no problem.
Better responsible reporting than a blackout and wild rumours.
It’s not panic buyers.
It’s clear that there’s been supply issues since the start of whatever this thing is and it has nothing to do with transport.
It’s also clear that whatever is in the packs of meat to biscuits is of laughably poor quality and ain’t the same thing since supplies ‘resumed’.
Digestives which taste and ( don’t ) crumble like they’ve been made with margarine or rancid fat and ‘beef’ which isn’t even good enough to be horse.
So called ‘fresh’ meat and fish which has clearly been in frozen storage so frozen stuff at a fresh price.Again beef often with a border of yellow fat on it if any fat at all.Smoked Ham or nothing.Or crap quality cold meats all adulterated by Chili spice zb.
Cleaning stuff is a lottery from empty shelves to maybe some left.

Yes, local outbreaks have caused meat processing plant closures, restrictions on travel resulted in fewer workers available so some produce was left to rot in the fileds etc. My local ASDA had almost no sliced meats/salami due to in their own words, supplier issues. I think it had to do with the covid outbreaks in several factories in Germany. One thing almost no one talks about is a locust plague in Africa with insane amounts of crops destroyed.
The real effects of the spring/summer lockdowns are yet to be felt across the world, IMO.
None of us are panic buying, we’re just getting a few extra bits, just in case.
Due to the global supply chains some items took longer for stock levels to return to normal.
The supermarkets will stock what they make the most money on,they don’t give a toss if they run out of bog rolls, the feeding the nation slogan on one supermarket was highlighted when you pulled into the rdc and Every truck in the queue had beer on,I went into the rdc’s every night over the last lockdown with beer on and it was amazing how they didn’t care about booking times and how quick you got tipped was fantastic…
If it comes to a full lockdown again and your in a Rdc have a look around you

Sainsbury’s Waltham point…
In the lockdown was chock full of that really important life changing commodity known as…Coca-Cola. Trucks queued up with the stuff and pallet stacks almost touching the roof.
I can’t give you numbers but, considerably more product than I’ve ever seen there including over the Xmas rush.
Thanks, I will enjoy it, small week last week, only did 1100 quid Volumes are apparently 40% over plan this weekend and I needed the weekend off
Could have made it to 1350 ish if I had done a 6th day
Looking forward to some extra shifts shame it ends up all being heavy cages of beer with a few bog rolls, if last time is anything to go by!

That was a big week, swings and roundabouts, but £46300 on my last years P60 is fairly regular dont ya think?
Has anybody heard if Winseer is managing to get his right kind of cat food this time??..without the jelly.
I’m a bit worried for him, that man suffered last time.
Well gladly I’ve seen nobody going mental in my neck of the woods having spent the weekend nipping here and there for bits and bobs.
That’s not to say that some people haven’t lost their marbles, but in my limited world its not as prevalent as last time.
I still don’t get… why toilet roll…

I don’t get it either. Especially when hamsters are about £1 each at the pet shop and are both washable and reusable.

Good economical solution!
Easier and cheaper than having one`s servants sourcing white swans. We all need to economise.
It’s all about yer planet saving innit?

Rob dont start. You know Winseer Victor Meldrew will come and start moaning. He was making me worried last time.
