It’s not panic buyers.
It’s clear that there’s been supply issues since the start of whatever this thing is and it has nothing to do with transport.Yes, local outbreaks have caused meat processing plant closures, restrictions on travel resulted in fewer workers available so some produce was left to rot in the fileds etc. My local ASDA had almost no sliced meats/salami due to in their own words, supplier issues. I think it had to do with the covid outbreaks in several factories in Germany. One thing almost no one talks about is a locust plague in Africa with insane amounts of crops destroyed.
The real effects of the spring/summer lockdowns are yet to be felt across the world, IMO.
No issues here where I am, lucky to have good weather all year around, so even this winter I was growing peppers and strawberries etc.
