Compulsory masks

eagerbeaver:
The Beaver still remains prick free (apart from communicating with a couple on here that is).

And strangely enough, I feel fine and I’m not dead. Although very sadly I note that some people my age (40’s) who have had multiple jabs are…

Same here, mate. And that will not be changing. Where there’s risk there should be choice.

@Franglais I would be really grateful if you could spare me an hour to listen to this and give me your critique?
They are 2 Telegraph journalists that have been doing this since it started so hopefully they are worth listening to.
They have a source in the NHS they call “George” and a GP they call “Clare” so they know what they’re talking about.
You could start from the beginning, or maybe from 28 mins in for an interview with a cancer specialist ( before going back to the beginning)

Thank you

Seems you need to sign up to the ‘free-trial’ to grab this which is a bummer as the journo for this paper-Alison Pearson-has always been a classy writer.Would love to hear her views tbh.

Oh! Do any of these links work?

Many thanks chap, got Alison on the Apple audio but the other link still steers to the Telegraph free-trial,which is unfortunate.Love AP,she’s like Julie Burchill but sans the chip-on-shoulder bile, which doesn’t denigrate the genius of JB in any way. These two are the cream of the crop i reck.Superlative chroniclers of our time.

People queuing for an hour to get the booster jab round where I live, wow, people are living in fear or just so gullible.

They’ll queue round the block…for a ■■■■■■ McDonald’s

Oh yeh., and to explain why I’ll do as asked…
It’s a manners thing, just that I don’t like coming across as an arrogant prick…unlike yourself who appears to have no problem with this evidently.

Got it…but isn’t the manners thing doing it first without being asked?

Or do you feel that the requirement to get them to ask you politely gives you your due respect?

You don’t like coming across as an ignorant prick? Odd. Would you say you’re prone to introspection and that you’re self aware?

See - ironically I don’t care what some people think either. But it seems I’m a little more honest on that front and quite aware of how it comes across.

And yet I manage the common courtesy of wearing a mask as required.

Go figure

Ok mate, cards on table here, with no clever response accompanied by mild insults etc…

Truth is I’m sick to [zb] death with all this Covid crap going on,.and sick of hearing about it…it’s [zb] incessant.
Ok., I know I m guilty of sparring on here with various people about it, thus prolonging it, but it really is doing my swede in big style…no kidding.
Sick of hearing about, it the news and radio is full of it, people talking about it all the time, hearing about social [zb] distancing., wearing masks, sick of people doing country [zb] dances when they approach me if I get too close, and all the rest of the idiosyncrasies pertaining to all this crap we have had to endure for the last 18/20 months or so.

I just want to try and live as normal as possible,.enjoy a decent social life, and not be pre.occupied with it all.
So yeh, call me selfish, but I ain’t really interested in wearing a mask, as a priority in my life, law or not., but yeh…if I’m asked I will more than likely will with a sigh and a ‘‘ffs’’ under my breath,.wishing for it all to end.

If it culminates with me catching it,.I don’t give a [zb], I’m more concerned if my Mrs catches it, tbh,.that is my stance on it…I get the not wearing mask in front of her thing btw before you jump in.

So yeh, that’s about it in a nutshell from my own pov.
Come back with a smart arse response if you wish, or feel the need to., I ain’t fussed, I’m just being straight with you . (after too many beers in front of the tv. )

Funny how a response in the vein you engage in is somehow being smart arsed.
We’ve all had enough of it Rob

It’s a bit of both, kind of feel sorry for them as these past two years of living in that kind of fear must really of affected their mental health. I can’t believe they can’t see through it by now though, it’s getting laughable the garbage that is getting churned out by the MSM

We?
All?
As I’ve said before on here on these occasions…
As long as I can keep ■■■■■■■ off people like you on here…it makes it all worthwhile. :sunglasses:

You caught me at a week moment last night,.wtf was I actually thinking, coming clean on a subject and trying to have a constructive conversation with a ■■■■ ex copper. :unamused:

What do you expect, people are bound to be afraid, like I said it is being rammed down our necks every 5 minutes, and blanket coverage by the media…
As I said,.I did go for mine, if some think I’m gullible,.ain’t fussed.
As for being scared?..nah can’t say that applies to me., maybe just made a decision as I saw it,.and went for what I thought was the best of two evils…rightly or wrongly, I will see no doubt.

After saying that I turned up and was seen right away,.I certainly would not have queued for anymore than 5 minutes, let alone an hour,… although I reckon my Mrs would. :unamused:

neybour of mine pushes a mop on the wards at Ipswich hospital he told me its a load of tut. now hed know , hed see

Tbf mate, I don’t think you’re putting a good argument up …the opinion of a sweeper upper?
Just cause he works in a hospital,.it doesn’t make him a medical expert.

You never hear a trucker coming across as an authority on all this stuff do ya?
Oh hang on a minute.

The media was telling everyone that the country was grinding to a halt because of driver shortage and people were offering £5k cash in envelopes and 80k per year etc.
Who knew the actual truth behind those lies if not us sweeper uppers on the floor?
Your man there will see that the hospital is not overrun, the places are empty.
All this is to protect the NHS remember…
I would trust a man with a mop over any politician or journalist that’s for sure

Not exactly about masks but just seen this which does make sense:

if someone has twenty cars parked outside their house they prob shouldnt lol.
I havent been vaxxed. But I think its safe to say we should be slowing down the spread as much as is reasonable.

No we shouldn’t. Omicron has been described as like a vaccine. And it’s probably safer.
Covid parties for the win.

Getting confused here…

We don’t need to slow anything down, it’s all hype. So they say it’s highly contagious but with cold like symptoms for the majority of people. Like a cold then.

Call me sarcastic, or a doubter, but am i alone finding it strange that we seem to have the only reported death from omricon in the world. the bearded one

Listen carefully to what he says…

‘died WITH omicron’.

He was being honest and deceiving all at once.
