I had to shut off the news before, this is all just so depressingly inevitable that as soon as we got a bad week for ‘new cases’ the hysteria would start and calls for masks & restrictions.
Apparently the polls say that the majority want all this, well take a look around with your eyes and the real life evidence suggests otherwise.
It seems to get all too easily forgotten that many of the previous doomsday predictions for case numbers have ended up being way off the mark. We should have had 200k cases a day in August. The dropping of restrictions so far hasn’t really had the terrible impact the mask obsessed said it would do, by an absolute country mile. It consistently gets glossed over the fact that Wales for example is still seeing covid cases shooting up despite people wearing the magic pieces of cloth over their face. Could it be that it’s more to with society being open & normal life situations like mixing with friends indoors? Rather than whether or not you mask up to buy some bread down Tesco.
I heard an ad on the radio the other day saying that we should all be testing twice weekly, something I have never participated in when feeling well because you don’t get any financial support for being off work. Not a problem for the high flyers pushing all this crap though who can work at home or undertake their isolation on full pay. What other country out there is mass testing and making isolate healthy people & school children on the scale we are? My wife & I got laughed at by a German couple on holiday last month for all the testing we were having to do to get home, they didn’t have to do anything. No wonder our case numbers are showing so much higher.
Be sure that the enforcement of ‘Plan B’ will lead to more restrictions in time when the magic face masks inevitably don’t work, the usual crowd will be crying for limits on household mixing etc. for which I can categorically say that my family will be gathering this christmas regardless. It will be a dangerous precedent set where we will get cries for restrictions bringing back every year.
This needs nipping in the bud. I’ve had my vaccines, so have nearly 90% of adults out there, the NHS is a public service and not our overlord. Fund it properly, sort it out. Get lost and leave me alone.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s time to stop pointlessly counting cases and dealing with the real issue…- the fact the NHS is ■■■■■■ and needs completely overhauling.

I find it hard to understand why anyone believes these top medics. They said “the answer is a vaccine”. Then they said it wasnt. Then “case numbers at 100k plus a day by the end of August.” Then they said no they won’t be (after it didnt happen).
