Granted the roads were quiet, but come on ladies & gents there is a cycle path to your left, FFS
It looks like a club organised ride and the cycle lane doesnât look big enough to accommodate them all plus oncoming bikes/pedestrians.
At least club riders get a shift on and donât bumble about.
My only gripe with them is when they ride 2/3 abreast.
Nothing a good blast of the horn didnât solve.

Have you started early on the falling down stuff my friendâ â ?
Like it
That is something that really gets my goat.
As I have mentioned before and will again, all bicycleists who misbehave and cause a nuisance with inconsiderate riding should be slapped around the head with a wet salmon as they are passed
I did used to quite enjoy passing them in my old 4x4 offroader that was tuned and the fuelling was turned up, a drop in gears and a bit of a boot and a cloud of heavy fuel fumes enveloped them
People need to get over this. They are hardly on the A1, itâs a quiet DC and you can easily pass them in lane 2.
That âcycle pathâ looks like a shared footpath. Not suitable for competent cyclists making quick progress, certainly not in a group, it will also likely make the cyclists give way at every side road, suddenly end / force them to use pedestrian crossings at the next roundabout which isnât satisfactory.
I would get over it if they played by the same rules as other road users

And what does that achieve? They probably spent more time on the go than you did on that removal job.

A wet fully grown Blue Marlin more like.
On that road I would be doing at least 40kmph on my bike and would not be using a shared cycle path at that speed. Plus I would have to slow or stop at every side road as the cycle path crosses before the give way or stop lines for the side roads and sod that malarky when Iâm training or getting the hammer down. Cyclist are just as entitled to use the carriageway as anyone else, especially intolerant motor vehicle users.
As long as you play by the rules (though you have your own cycle way funded by who?) you may be salmon free or full grown marlin free
My missus was overtaken in one of Bristolâs many 20 mph zones the other day by a bloody cyclist obviously doing more than she was, so are they exempt from speed limits ?
I think not, get that Marlin out.

Thank you for your enlightenment

Yes they are. Limits apply to motor propelled vehicles which cycles arenât.
There is an offence of âcycling furiouslyâ however I donât know when this was last used.
I must thank the mayor of Bristol for those 20mph limits; Now I can dedicate just a bit more time to spotting âBristolsâ (of which I saw lots on Thursday)
have no problems with this whatsoever - I cycle where I want in a sensible manner - keeps me fit.
