Coca cola Edmonton route please!

Going to coca cola in Edmonton London. Can anyone tell me if the route of m25-a10-a1005 is viable? The a1005 seems to take you straight there. Just wonderin about any restrictions there might be? Have checked the truck atlas but I know London is supposed to have weird restrictions etc :unamused: many thanks fellas!

a1005?

is not coca cola at
Unit 10-10A, Nobel Rd, London N18 3DJ
?

that’s where i’ve been…

I’m assuming you mean the A1055 through brimsdown and not the A1005 on the other side of Enfield

Yes, A1055 Molison Ave. Go through the lights by Bestway then turn left into Nobel Road, bear right then left at roundabout and left again into the trailer park. Open curtains before booking in, or they will spend ten mins booking in two drivers in front before sending you back to do it. Quite a militant place, although I’ve never been there more than about 90 mins

Yeah that’s the road ‘molisson ave’. So it’s quite acceptable along there? No restriction etc. I’m 15’4…can’t see any bridges. I’ll be sealed as I’m unloading there so won’t be able to open the curtains lol

Sorry my typo! A1055* lol

i’d take 1055 straight away. there is a 7.5t limit except permit holders and some crazy hours but the area is packed with industrial units, can’t see the point in the sign really

When you pull into the trailer park there’s a big red sign telling you to stop and use the intercom (like Tescos RDCs). Don’t do what I did and actually follow this instruction, otherwise you’ll be sat there waiting for a reply and not get one, and a queue of rather impatient drivers will start to build up behind you. Drive straight in and look for a little hut in the corner.

Good luck with your ‘induction’.

So there are 7.5 tonne restrictions on the a1055?

Ah yeah. I have been told about the Hut in the corner! Cheers buddy

Yes it’s got signs up for the lbts restrictions, but it’s an unrestricted road on the latest lbts map. The whole system is a joke to be fair. Plenty of restricted roads on the map that don’t have signs either :unamused:

I’m new to the whole London thing. So ‘except permit holders’ does that mean for companies that are exempt from the restrictions due to delivering?

Yes and no. Your truck has to be registered, and you must use the shortest route from an unrestricted road to your destination. For arguments sake, if you’re in north London and your next drop is Croydon, you couldn’t head through the middle. You’d have to take the shortest route to an unrestricted road, then use nothing but unrestricted roads to get to Croydon, and take the shortest restricted route into the next drop.

It can seem hard work. It’s not too bad for single drops, but multi drop supermarket work is a pain. For example if you do Tesco and have Pentonville Road and Commercial Street, Monday to Saturday you just follow city road around until the shop comes up on the left. If it’s Sunday though, you have to go up the A1/A503 back to the North Circ at Edmonton, then down the A12 to the Blackwall and then the A13 to Aldgate. If you get old street in the middle of the two as well, you can use the Monday to Saturday route. Go figure :open_mouth:

Yeah screw London work! Lol. I’m not going until tomorrow night. So I’ll just use the a1055 as discussed seeing as it’s OK on that map you posted!

90 minutes?? They obviously like you mate, 3 hours was my average! Although I once lost 6 hours before being pulled out!

That lorry ban zone is a joke. We have a drop at Ealing Broadway at 6am. We did this for about 7 months no problem then a massive flurry of fines suddenly appeared.

Lorry ban? lol, I’ve been driving through London for years, for several companies, and not even considered lorries being banned (apart from weight restrictions), and never had a ticket or anything. There’s lorries everywhere at all hours, especially along that road that links the A10 from J25 M25 through to Enfield - the one loaded with weight restrictions.

The other night I was tempted to come in from the M1 down the A1, over Blackfriar’s bridge, through to the Elephant and Castle, and pick up the A23 to Croydon, literally going from top to bottom through London in the early hours. Am I to assume this isn’t allowed due to some ban?

Is those signs you see (or don’t) that have that odd 16.5T restriction then a list of times. If you’re on that road after said time then your company might might get a fine as our lot found out. Once you get off the A406 at Ealing Common you’re straight into said ban zone and we have no permit that I know of. We were driving in before 6am to get to Ealing Broadway shopping centre for months. One day the office got all the collected fines at once.
