Clinton or Trump ? (poll)

Dolph:

Harry Monk:
For me, Hillary Clinton by a country mile, however I think Donald Trump will be the next President.

Naah, speaking ill of democrats, latino’s, muslim, minorities etc. he will not win. Also consider the fact that a woman might be for the first time President of US, many women might back her up, just of the notion that he will rule without involving US in wars, as people there are tired of them. What Trump will offer, more of the Bush megalomania.

When faced with a choice of “A Woman or a Black guy” in 2008 - people chose the Black guy, despite doubts over his birth, doubts over his religion, etc.

People were not ready for “a woman” at that time then.

Eight years on, and if talk among Women’s groups in America is anything to go by - Hilary seems to NOT be popular among them! She IS popular among African Americans.
We ask ourselves “What does Bernie have that appeals to Women in particular, and will those women get behind Hilary if she beats Bernie to the nomination?”

We assume that Women - in particular working to middle class women - will NOT vote “Trump” because of his low Charisma. The ones that won’t vote Trump because he’s running on a Republican ticket - don’t matter here of course.

One’s vote in the coming election is about Strength and Autocracy vs Hardline Politics where government seeks how to justify and enact nasty deeds throughout it’s term, using a whole army of massively-expanded legal system to administer it. That’s BIG government folks - and presents a stark contrast to Trump’s more “Autocratic, Efficient, Small government” system. There’s no danger he’ll step over the line, and start purging his opposition - he just hasn’t got the party machine for that.

There’s more chance imho that we’ll step closer to WWIII under Hilary than Trump as well. Putin has already voiced a healthy “Respect” for Trump.
Don needs to watch his back though - Putin has a record of bumping off his own billionaires - and ex-pats in foreign countries too!

We already know that Putin is capable enough to play anyone and everyone - at once if need be.

bald bloke:
So just pretend you’re American for a few seconds…

Can I have Dodge Ram dually and a big gun?
But seriously folks, Donald Trump, he’s the Lightning Rod for the frustrations of middle America, if he does make it to the White House then that’s when his real troubles begin

Agreed. Julius Caesar was an incredibly wealthy autocrat. He had power for a while of the most powerful empire on Earth. Then he got assassinated.

If Trump doesn’t mind sitting under that sword of Damocles then - then he deserves the Whitehouse on the grounds of personal bravery alone.

If I were him in Government - I’d fear constant attempts by “The Opposition” to get rid of me one way or the other at all times.

Even stuff like having a “wrong side of the Iron Curtain” bit of skirt might be enough to get him accused of “selling out to the commies” for example - but I would anticipate Team Hilary throwing this particular line in his face once the two of them go head-to-head later this year. It has to be said that the Mrs here is no fool - she speaks five languages, and there are a lot of better looking billionaires that she could have got hitched to as someone my own wife’s age. “She’s not there for the money” I’m suggesting. :stuck_out_tongue: I think she’s worth $50m in her own right.

Not a great advert for the concept of ‘democracy’ .

Ask yourself this, any of the idiots going, would you give them the throttle to the most powerful country on Earth? Trump a narcissistic screwed up empowered individual icon of 1980s American excess living today. Clinton? Well, let’s not start. They have portrayed in their campaigns, they do not have the have the brain power to crack a ■■■■, a Rubik’s cube, crossword or the delicacies of world play and global destruction. They have achieved in their own decadence through loop holes and tenacity within the confines of America. Now they want to play their ball on the world court to embrace their egos.

Maybe, some facets of intelligence there. But if intelligence extended to a comprehensive world view or societal understanding, expect one big, how does Homer say it? “Doh”!

Nob heads like this do not run the country and at el, the world. Their cabinet, or office is running that tide. But they do hold key positions. Like their finger on the button. To truly give a bloke who’s so up his own 'arris he flies around in a B757 with a golden interior the keys to world destruction is terrifying. It’s a symbol of course. Other far deeper and more intrinsic details are at stake. It amazes me the willingness people display in signing over their lives.

If the United States of America had any sense or true intelligence as a whole, non of these commercialised dimwits would be in the running.

Here’s a peculiar “Coincidence”:

I’ve just checked the prices of the IN/OUT EU referendum result and the HILARY/TRUMP US election result (At THIS stage remember)

…They are practically mirroring each other…

Hilary 1/2 on Trump 2/1 against.
“IN” 1/2 on - “OUT” 2/1 against.

Hmmmm… A conspiracy theorist like me could go on to suggest that both markets are being manipulated by the same bunch of people… Kinda makes you realize who the biggest losers would be if we did indeed leave the EU eh?

The banks. Who runs a lot of the banks? Who runs Goldman Sachs in particular?

Oh bugger it. Let’s just say it: “Smacks of New World Order manipulation in the markets”.

Libor fiddlers got jailed. Fiddling the EU result though? That’ll hurt a lot more of us, especially if the INs steal the result with <33% of the electorate.

Such a result would suit the banks fine. That some of us will get killed in the new debt bubble that follows - doesn’t matter to them.

Blimey I wouldn’t call Cruz a commercialised dimwit.

The-Snowman:
Clinton or trump is a bit like saying “Do you want to be shot or stabbed?”
Neither is an appealing choice and you know which ever one it is you’re going to suffer

One of them will kill us all. Start hoarding tinned food.

Trump just for a laugh really. He’d probably be assassinated with the stuff he comes out with.

I vote frank underwood :open_mouth: :unamused:

Can’t stand the man. I remember seeing the first TV report some years ago about his golf course ambitions in Scotland and how he had just ridden roughshod (Yeee Haaa) over the local residents. He doesn’t seem to have changed one iota.

But goodness knows what will happen since the Yanks are so thick that they reject an NHS style health care service and then really insist on the right to go around shooting one another. They won’t realise what they had in Obama until it’s too late.

With no great enthusiasm, I voted Clinton
US is a democracy so the voters choice must be respected
History tells us that, while many attributes are required of a leader, sanity is not one of them
I believe that Adolf was democratically elected

Firstly our own government is based on the idea of government dictatorship over local democracy so no surprise that he wouldn’t care less about local residents.

As for the NHS it’s actually just a an underfunded rationed system put there to save the employers the cash needed in wages to fund a decent private system.

Which is way inferior to what the American system provides.Just so long as the well paid jobs are there to pay for it all.The inconvenient fact for Obama being it’s the latter which is the problem.IE if you haven’t got the highly paid jobs and resulting wages going into the system then it’s unaffordable.Regardless of whether it’s a taxed based system or a private insurance funded one.On that note Obama is just another zb wit socialist like the founders of the original NHS which seemed good in an idealistic world in which everything is supposedly ‘free’. :bulb:

Worst case scenario, Trump for president and Boris for PM. Stop the world I want to get off, please.

That’s fair enough but the topic seems to miss the point that at least the republican contest isn’t over by a long way yet.Cruz isn’t ideal ( IE small employers and subjecting the economy to race to the bottom global free markets aren’t what put America where it was in the 1960’s for example ).But he’s probably the better option than Trump. :bulb:
