Looks like he was trying to commit suicide, good reactions on the brakes though, I’m after some kind of app for my phone and a phone holder so I can record forward facing.
■■■■ me has he got a death wish?
I’m using one of these at the moment,
7dayshop.com/catalog/product … _id=111548
records on a 5 min loop with sound activated, takes 4 hours to fill a 16gb sd card (not supplied) then overwrites so I carry a spare just in case.
two 16gb cards will be about £30.00
Shame he never hit him and removed the moron from our roads.

I was thinking more along the line of an app for my htc, there’s a few about now, but what you said you got looks good.
Bloody students!
Just proves that attending university does not actually mean you have any intelligence or common sense.
I had a brown trouser moment earlier - I was coming off of the A34 to go to Newbury and was overtaking 2 slow cars when the front car decided my lane was good as I was along the side of him forcing me onto the hatched markings
you never hear a horn blown at an accident if you got ime to blow the horn you can stop, thats what i was always told but he should have flattened him
Speaking with my ADI & RoSPA Gold caps on this is what I see:
As soon as the cyclist is visible in the clip (clicking on it brings it up larger in youtube) the truck is still gaining on him at some rate despite the imminent start of a hazard centre line & a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction on a single carriageway of limited width.
The presence of the hazard line should be interpreted by the driver as “I can expect little chance of being able to carry out a safe overtake here.”
I can’t see if the cyclist glanced over his shoulder before doing what he did. If he did, its a clear clue as to he might do something like that. With the start of the hazard line & the oncoming vehicle, maybe he assumed (incorrectly) the truck driver would make no attempt to overtake.
Had the cyclist not done what he did, what was the truck driver’s plan? Surely not to pass him in the face of the oncoming vehicle when it was obvious from the width of the road he would need to be a minimum of 50% over the (by now hazard) line in order to give the cyclist adequate clearence?
Judging from the speed of approach, it would seem that was indeed his (poor) plan.
I’m not on anyone’s side, just saying what I see.

It doesn’t take ADI and ROSPA gold pieces of paper to see that the vehicle moved over to the centre line to pass the cyclist so I’m guessing you must be looking at a different clip. It’s also quite apparent from the distance on either side of the oncoming vehicles that the road is plenty wide enough to pass a cyclist without needing to cross the centre line.
Depends on your interpretation of “plenty wide enough” Rob.
How wide is a cyclist from his riding line to the top of his head having fallen into your path due to an unseen pot hole, wonkey/missing grid/sudden side wind gust etc.?
Also realise that the camera has a fish eye lens on it which greatly distorts the normal field of vision making things appear much closer than they actually are.
I seen him move over for the ■■■■ on the bike. That was his first mistake. His second mistake was hitting the brakes.

Wouldn’t bother,
I had an App on my HTC Desire and it was meant to automatically upload the video, one night some Nobby D ■■■■■■, ■■■■■■, scum undertook me via the Hard Shoulder on the M6. Nearly wiping me, the HGV in front and the 2 HGVs on my Right out. I stood my ‘ground’, horn going like mad, eventually this ■■■■ backed off. Anyways, when I got to stoke I replayed this and ■■■■■ me, nearly pood maself again. When I got back to Ipswich I went to show it and it had ‘gone’. Cyberland or some other foreign place.
edit,
also kills your battery. I had mine on charge with a 1000a charger but with this, the bluetooth and GPS the battery was draining faster than it could charge. I had a ‘big’ battery in to give it a ‘head start’ as well.
Magatwat not on here anymore

Yes mate, mine is plugged into 24v the supplied adaptor drops it from 12/24v down to 5v.
