Hi,easy. Just take juddians advice , turn up smart and do the job. regards Tony.
Evil8Beezle:
For my first day, I’m apparently going to have a drivers mate who can’t drive!
The plan obviously, is to guide me around my route & help with the manual stuff.
(as well as assessing me I’d expect…)But I’ve been pondering what’s the most shocking thing i can say to them at the start!
You know, something like: “My instructors were great, their out of hospital now!”
Or maybe: “We’ll be fine working together, you’re not my type!”
Again, any suggestions
Sit in silence for five minutes then ask him if the voices in your head are bothering him! (Best said with head on one side and a creepy smile.)
Or better still, pullover and start having a row with yourself. 2nd man will be out of the cab like a shot.

Why would I want him to escape?

Agreed, but it doesn’t mean I have to behave here. This is Therapy!

It’s not looking like that, that i have the problem with…
Because in my experience mate, working for you know who has enough challenges as it is.
The last thing you need is some helmet chatting about absolute ■■■■■■■■ next to you.
Then again, he might feel the same lol.

Make sure you pop the central locking first!

OK, you actually are scaring me now, as the worst thing I can think of is that they are constantly going to be on the phone telling my I’m behind schedule.
(I assume they have trackers…)
As for the mate, I can handle anyone for a day, but it would be nice if he could count without using his fingers!
Evil8Beezle:
As a point of interest, does anyone know the most damage/cost someone has caused on their first day?
There’s a fella on here, I forget his name, who took on a young lad with no experience to drive a bulker. If my memory serves me right, this lad kept [zb]ing up, causing damage etc, but he kept giving him another chance… until the lad made the wagon have a lie down on a dual carriageway and ran off home without so much as a phone call. This was all in his first week I think.

Agency limp, rugby, 40yrs being kicked by cattle cattle and crashing motorbikes tends to do thatThat’s a very modest statement. You’d get much more respect if you told the truth about how you got your limp that one time you stormed the embassy balcony.
Well I don’t like to talk about it and anyway if I told you I’d have to …

Hmm, that’s setting the bar pretty high! I’m really going to have to go some to beat that…
I guess I could save some time on the deliveries and literally park the wagon in the shop…
So thanks for that, now i’m armed with the knowledge that things could probably have gone worse if I do ■■■■ up!

Probably… but, you might crush a child or something and spend the rest of your life wishing you’d turned a bulker over instead.
Best keep your wits about you.

Very true & a sobering thought, one reason i’m off to bed in a minute, to get a good full nights kip!
Hopefully I’ll never EVER have to consider anything like that, and i’m a slow possibly over cautious driver anyway.
I was more worried about going too slow on my test, than too fast…
Sweet dreams.
Contraflow:
Sweet dreams.
Thanks, according to the beaver, the nightmare starts when I wake up!
Good to see you are back Contra. I was concerned you had been hunted along with Cecil the lion.

I am the hunter, not the hunted.
Haha. Love it. No monkeying around.

It’s less embarrassing to say you are an agency driver, than admit you deliver to shops… “Morning Mr Patel, I’ve got a delivery for you but someone has dumped a rusted Mercedes van outside… oh sorry Mr Patel, I didn’t realise it belonged to you”…
