MMM let me see
NO!
Ive just left a job which was £12 hour and now going to a much better payed job , both general haulage and I’m only driving a 18t next week still on artic Money
So I wouldn’t take a pay cut  to do plant transport
P/S the £12 hour was a big company and new better payed job is with a small company of 9 people

If it was days it would do me , not far from where I live & luckily I’ve never been ruled by money !!!

Good on ya!
I don’t think some of these companies are aware of the driver shortage, they mustn’t have been reading the news

If that was general then may be ok ish , but a more skilled job like plant transport :unamused:

But, but, but…

Did you fellas not see that they offer a Cycle to Work scheme?

Did you fellas not see that they offer a Cycle to Work scheme?

ha ha, that’s because you probably couldnt afford to run a car on their wages.

It does show that things are moving the right way though because a year ago £10.71 would have been considered to be a slightly above average hourly rate. Now we laugh at it.

Some things dont really change. Fifty years ago firms were offering £15.00 per week and stipulating that you must have a car and telephone. You couldnt pay up a bike and buy a door bell for the money.

I’m tempted to apply and then ignore them if they try to contact me for an itnerview, as was the custom before the table turned.

Sign up with Pertemps and you’ll be doing the exact same work for nearly £20/hr.

A basic house cost a couple of grand and you could feed your family for a week for a quid. That’s inflation for you.

Scandalous. I work for the same company but 20 miles from there and my basic is £3 an hour more. I wonder if the Toyota lads are in a union? I doubt it somehow. Meanwhile in Hoyer world they are offering this beauty….

Nice not to be ruled by money - but there’s a lot of people called “creditors” out there that rule most people 'cos they ain’t got any…

So when you go for a job ,you don’t look at the wages, you look at other things instead…

The tone of that letter really gets my back up. Written like they are doing YOU some sort of favour by TEMPORARILY increasing your bonus (note: not your pay) but only if 3000 different conditions are met, and we can and will end it at any time we want, a week’s notice is all you’ll get.

How about you go ■■■■ yourself, Joel Griffin? I hope all the Hoyer drivers leave and go work on the agency for big bucks where their efforts will be appreciated.

DCPCFML:

I may see what your sentiments are, and maybe agree with them,
but,
…agencies appreciating your efforts…!
.

Ha, I think we should all apply en-masse, then we all ignore them, lol.
